Ovidius Incertus
I am considering working a Malifaux Rasputina mini as an Inquisitor or similar and maybe pilfering the wings from a Kaeris mini. I've done some searching and few of the size comparisons I've found are very detailed and most seemed to be comparing old metal versions of the models to squatting marines, if that. Anyone able to compare the new Malifaux plastics to more recent GW minis? FWIW, I do biggerize most of my Marines, so if she's Guard sized, it's all good. Kilofix
Slightly thinner than Guard. But don't have a handy photo. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333333-malifaux-figures-size-comparison/#findComment-4726278 Share on other sites
sockwithaticket
Probably taller. I've got Sonia Criid on my desk and shes about a head taller than a marine (admittedly she's in heels), but she's also thinner and better proportioned than any GW human figure. Will definitely stand out.Malifaux plastics and metals in my experience are generall pretty similar, metals a little bit smaller. Major_Gilbear
Much thinner and a bit taller. You'll notice the proportional differences much more than the height differences. You would be better off with the older Dark Age Apocalypse or Wild West Exodus figs if you're after more exotic figs to use as Inquisitors and the like. In a pinch, the older (1st edition metal) Malifaux figures are a better bet I'd say, and even some Warmachine ones - sorsha Kratikoff is a good/popular figure for this. micahwc
I don't have them anymore but I use to paint a lot of Malifaux. I'd guess the old metal minis are about the size of a guardsman + or -, but they are a lot thinner since they are not heroic scale. Raspy doesn't have any weapons which will help a bit, since the Malifaux weapons are a lot thinner and smaller proportionally than the GW ones. I don't think she would look too out of place; I imagine the varied worlds in the imperium have varied living conditions, which produce varied sizes of people between the Rattling's and Ogryns. Some thinner, some taller, some thicker, some shorter, etc. For a similar look you could also go with Commander Sorcha ( not sure on spelling) from Warmachine. I think Privateer Press uses heroic scale, so she would be about the right size and the right proportions. She has a very similar aesthetic to Rasputina; I,e, Russian militaristic chick in a Russian winter hat.
