Minigiant
Hello everyone I have fallen down the rabbit hole that is Art Scale, or mainly referred to as True Scale. Except I am not looking for them anatomically correct. You can learn about Chapter, The Black Ronin, here: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333125-iron-gauntlet-ouroborus-perdition-two-ias/ My first version ended up looking like this http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/Minigiant/20170501_112649_zpslix9vspp.jpg http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/Minigiant/20170501_112702_zpsmln5gdwz.jpg And a photo for scale reference http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/Minigiant/20170501_112022_zpsf1jh9a0q.jpg Now I learnt a lot from this process, and learnt many things I would do differently because while it was generally well received, aspects had to be changed (The pose is slightly off, but thats because I am waiting on some scenic bases. The left leg needs to be standing on something to straighten the Astartes out) Second edition, has come about because a friend has gifted me some Champion shoulder pads, while I wait for Forgeworld Gorgon Termie pads to arrive from Ebay http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/Minigiant/20170503_115812_zpsxacpg7mo.jpg http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/Minigiant/20170503_115823_zpsjuhiaboy.jpg Now I plan to make a few changes to the backpack, as well as how the Katana is attached to the hand. Now making an entire army no matter how small this way, will be time consuming and monotonous. I do however believe I have the skills to make a Art/scale kit that with casting would save me Now please offer as much constructive feedback as possible, looking to make this as perfect as I possibly can I hope to share a 3rd shoulder pad option soon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333405-art-scale-mk23-army/ Share on other sites

Vairocanum
Samurai marines are always cool! Did a quick read through the link you posted and the Black Ronin seem really interesting, excited to see where you go with this project! For the hand holding the sword I would try drilling out a regular hand that was holding a gun or CC weapon as the sheath looks pretty thin and should be able to slip through the drilled out hole. Not 100% sure if normal marine hands would work but I think terminator sized hands would work fine. Also I personally prefer the regular marine shoulder pads over the square samurai ones. Looking forward to seeing more stuff from you! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333405-art-scale-mk23-army/#findComment-4729612 Share on other sites

The GW pads are also better, I have high hopes of the Forgeworld Gorgon ones working well on it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333405-art-scale-mk23-army/#findComment-4729615 Share on other sites
Isengrin
The Gorgon shoulder pads work very well on this particular model. Trust me. Regular hands or those from terminators can both fit, depending on the miniature you use as foundation. Sometimes the disparity is really negligible, especially with those from Forgeworld, and I have even mixed different-sized hands on a single model. Your paint scheme as shown in the Liber looks promising and I'm very interested to see how it turns out. Good luck with your ambitious project.
