Daemons in HH

Doghouse

They can be taken as an allied detachment for Word Bearer, by the means of their unique RoW and by selecting certain special characters.

One can also ally Daemons to an Imperialis Militia / Cult list by choosing the right Provenance.

Both Samus and Cor'bax, both daemon HQ characters with 'experimental rules', apparently allow Daemons to be a primary detachment, if your opponent is okay with that.

Remember in 30k everything is by player consent.

What? Only relics.
I have to disagree.

Yes, ruleswise it is up to you what you take and so forth.

But!

Just like in 40k everything should be a matter of communication between the player. That's the only Way how you get most of the game.

Communicate.

Talk to each other before and after games.

You think one if the units is way to good?

Well, have a nice chat about it. Maybe your opoonent can change it or your group make some houserules to fit your needs.

It works the other way round to.

A unit is crap?

Make it cheaper or change the rules.

Same with the missions you play, the terrain you use etc.

It is all about the players.

And you should only play units in consent with the other player. After all you play that game together and should act accordingly.

Almost every Problem people have with our awesome game comes from a lack of communication and of course selfishness.

It is a game and it is Not perfect so talk to each other.

Almost every problem we have with the game comes from poor rules writing. Putting it on the community is one of the most tiresome things to hear; there should be no negotiating or politics beyond "how many points do you want to play?"

Nah, in a story driven setting like 30k it is always about forging the narrative or at least that how it should be.

And like you said, the rules are poorly written sometimes and that's why you have to communicate.

Yep.

Though I agree it can't hurt to be like "Power list, or tamer fluffy list?" or "I'm bringing daemons. Warning you now as that is a pretty radical shift from the norm."

...Not that Bolters don't deal with most of them pretty easily!

It's a game first and foremost; stories can arise from the game and some awesome stuff can unfold, but labelling the game as a story telling vehicle is what caused the disconnect between GW and the community with all the 6th and 7th forging of the narrative. People obviously didn't buy models because they wanted to use them in the game, they were just collectors; the game itself wasn't attractive because it was an enjoyable game and skilled players could use good tactics and positioning to get ahead, people played games to create a story and show off their collection.

I don't have a problem with communication and coming to a consensus on how to deal with an iffy rules conundrum. The problem I have is that apparently it's only player selfishness and not agreeing to nerf units for poor players thats the only flaw in the game. Game balance is the game makers responsibility; magnus' power level is 100% not on the community
