Only two Titan legions on Mars?!

So post-heresy, are there only two Titan legions remaining on Mars?

Tempestus moved to Orestes, therefore leaving only the Deathbolts, and Legio Ignatum (Fire Wasps) on Mars....? 

anyone got any info on this?

There´re three Titan Legions on Mars, Legio Ignatum (Fire Wasps) and two others (classified) That´s the information from Imperial Armour 1 2nd Ed.

While not on Mars, but most likely on Titan, the Psi-Titan Corp is also stationed in the Sol system. It is also possible the Ordo Sinister is base out of Sol, with their 12 Emperor Titans.

There may be few Titan Legions in number, those Legions will probably have the best equipped and mantained Titans around, not to mention a better chance of "quick" replacements.

The problem with that idea is that nowadays most of the forgeworlds with titan legions produce their own....

Unlike 'Chapters' of space marines or 'Regiments' of guardsmen, I don't think a relatively consistent or clear measure has been reliably presented for the strengths of most titan legions. My general recollections on the subject are that the relative strengths are highly variable, and that you're much more likely to see a 'maniple' or similar sub-division actually committed to any particular theater.

 

It's a bit like saying yes, both Canada and the United States have armies. Both [insert throw away, only mentioned once, forgeworld] and Mars have titan legions.

 

Compare it to trying to put a precise finger on the number of Sisters that comprise a typical 'mission' when the reality of it is that the word in that context is likely much more analogous to 'task force'. The number of sisters assigned to a mission depends on just how many their command elements think that mission will require and who's available.

On mars there were three legions. The Legio Ignatum (Fire Wasps) are still on mars. The Legio Mortis (Heretics) I think are in the eye of terror or the warp. The Legio Tempestus was split with the senior princeps and about half the Titans turning to chaos. The surviving loyalist members made the forge world of Orestes their home.

There's only one Space Marine Legion/Chapter based on Terra.  I don't see the big deal.
