All My Painted Wolves Army Pics (10,000 points!)

So I've been away for a bit visiting family and while I was away I decided to lay out all of my wolves and take a new army pic, the last one was a while back, here it is for comparison:

Not bad, but it's gotten bigger since then, and has more Imperial Knights now so I thought I'd take some pics... only I set everything up, admired it with some buddies and then took some to play a game before realizing... I hadn't taken the pics. Well that's ok I'll just reset and take pics after the game, until my phone died after the first two pics! So a friend had to take the pics and send them to me.

Anyway without further ado I'll get on to the pics!

These are the couple pics I was able to take before my camera died.

Here's another couple wide shots:

Here's the center of the army in a bit more close-up, you can see the two versions of my Wolf Lord, one in Runic Armor, the other Terminator Armor,my counts-as Coteaz, Limited Edition Wolf Priest, Terminators, Wolf Guard, Land Raiders and the Storm Lord writ large and boy I gotta say that thing is my favorite tank in the game!

Some of you may have seen my posts about this part of the army recently, my DIY knight household, House Cenwulf. I chose to field a Knight army that wasn't just 5 Imperial Knights at 2000 points but was a bit less OP by taking fewer knights and more support in the form of Armored Sentinels using the Emperor's Talons Recon Company formation, and a mixture of Adeptus Mechanicus and Skitarii to field other walkers like the Ironstrider and Dunecrawler and take some Tech Priests and Skitarii representing house sacristans and household bodyguards. Also when the first Triumvirate Box dropped and Belisarius Cawl was revealed I knew I wanted that model in the army as well so there he is!

Here's the left side of the board showing the Stormwolf and Caestus and the Blood Claws and Grey Hunters transported in those gunships and the second and third Land Raiders. Up on the landing pad you can see my small Sky Claw Pack and on the building in the back my converted Wolf Scouts.

A bit blurry but this shows the bulk of the Grey Hunters, my Kaerls and Fenrisian Wolves (from the old Goblin Wolf Riders box).

So to sum up this is:

1,045 points of Kaerl Imperial Guard.

695 points of counts-as Blood Angels representing my old EoT campaign Wulfen as Death Company.

2,425 points of Imperial Knights, IG, Mechanicus and Skitarii as House Cenwulf.

6,281 points of pure Space Wolves.

10,446 points total.

Which just leaves some 2689 points left to paint for the stuff I have bought and built but not yet finished painting, I'm getting there, slowly but surely!

So C&C welcome, lemme know what you guys think of my obsessive project here!

Looking *gorgeous* Vash. Absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks! happy.png

Thanks for the pics. It is great to see a SW force so large. I especially like your Knight Household and the accompanying escort. They look really good in grey.

Thanks, I'm also very pleased with the Grey, particularly how the Sentinels, Onagers and Knights all look nice and uniform despite the significantly different design aesthetic and shapes to the three walker types, once painted up in their colors they all fall together quite nicely.

Wow. That is an impressive army to have completely painted. Well done!

Thanks but it's not completely painted, I've still got ten counts-as Blood Angels Tacticals and a BA Rhino, 6 Terminators, 12 Long Fangs, 4 Lone Wolves, three Leman Russ, a Vindicator, and two Valkyries left to paint! Oh and another Onager and ten more Skitarii rangers... so yea, still lots to do!

And I'm gonna be happy when I finally get 2000 points finished painted laugh.png

Absolutely gorgeous collection!

To put it in perspective my older army shot was from 2014, meaning in three years I've painted two gunships, five terminators, a land raider, and a sicaran. The most painting I've gotten done has been the 2400 points of House Cenwulf that I've done in the last 4-6 months, which is a huge step up from my previous work rate.

In short just keep cracking at it and you'll get there sooner or later. This army didn't pop up over-night, I started it back in oh... 2007/08 sometime so it's roughly a decade old.

Amazing army. I need to be more effective with paiting. It takes lot of time to paint 16000 smile.png. Your army is really great! Congratulations!

This army has taken me 10 years to collect, build and paint, hardly the fastest or most effective painting timeline, just keep at it and eventually the goal will be reached.

I still say you need more Drop Pods msn-wink.gif

Are you kidding?!?!?! Of course I need more drop pods, I have ONE drop pod, I need like... uh 10... at least. Six for the Grey Hunters, more Dreadnoughts and pods for them, three for the Long Fangs. I also still need another 2 Rhinos and 3 Razorbacks. Transports and auxiliary vehicles are just so expensive and time consuming to buy and paint... I need to do it eventually but man... it's gonna be a while.

This is what I aspire to. Well done Brother.

Thanks! blush.png
