Battybattybats
The first we saw of Cawl was a small bit with a lot of import. His hand holding his keys. One was for the reliquary triaros containing the primarch-saving suit. It seems the second was for the numarines. What then is the third key for? Are the numarines taking up two keys, one for the biotech and the other the hardware like Cawl-pattern bolters and the new dreadnought? Or is there something else big still coming? Midlight
Maybe he's been working on an equivalent of the Necron pylon tech and that's the key for that. Going to need some way to get across the big warp tear to save the guys on the other side at the last minute. MajorNese
In the designer's video, they joked about how one key is for the one big secret, one maybe for his Land Raider, and he doesn't even remember for the last one. Guess it was just aesthetics to put up 3 keys, just one or two would look weird. BitsHammer
40k Facebook said that Cawl should have some goodies saved for the Mechanicus. Could argue the third key is for his personal toy box... Battybattybats
Excellent... But as I like to game historical events (not just the heresy and current) it will mean new things that have a clear place in the timeline. So if it's say a cool flier it'll be a new-age only one etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333662-cawls-third-key/#findComment-4748389 Share on other sites
MithrilForge
so we assume now that the third key is for the Primaris Repulsor tank?... Hey Cawl....how about some love for your own troop hordes...our metal feet need re shoeing ...again... Hey Cawl....how about some love for your own troop hordes...our metal feet need re shoeing ...again... Mithrl The only caveat I'd make to that request is to get a transport that crawls. It would make so much more sense for the Martian forces, at least based on the established background. Battybattybats
A transport with legs or if a flyer an ornithopter would indeed fit the limbed locomotive theme. I'd also welcome a skull-ship, imperial mole, 40k flying saucer or a plastic triaros. Ammonius
Limbed locomotive theme? Well said! I have been looking at my force, and thinking how the "all legs" theme was a cool aspect of the AdMech army (Kataphrons aside). While I like the look of the Macrocarid Explorator, I would absolutely love to see a multi-legged version that shared design cues with the Onager. But a Imperial Mole? That just sets off my old-gamer's nostalgia to the epic models line! I'd love to see a squad-level Termite and a superheavy Hellbore as transports. Battybattybats
Imperial moles are used by the Mechanicum resistance on Mars during the Heresy in the short story Myriad, so hopefully we'll get them from either Forgeworld or Games Workshop. Dark Bjoern
I know the secret behind the third key. The third key is for his own privat toilet. And he´s the only one on Mars who got a privat toilet. He´s truely privileged. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333662-cawls-third-key/#findComment-4777867 Share on other sites
JeffTibbetts
Having painted the model I can tell you the last key is a straight-up 20th-Century house key. It's hilarious to me. So maybe that's all it is? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333662-cawls-third-key/#findComment-4779768 Share on other sites
