Lords of Preyspire
Hi all, I saw this on the 40k wiki under the word bearers section. Unless I'm mistaken it's an oracle of change. Any ideas what this is from? Thanks http://i1308.photobucket.com/albums/s607/LordsofPreyspire/image_zpsfpscxsr6.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333795-identifying-the-origins-of-a-piece-of-art/ Share on other sites
Iron Father Ferrum
The cover of a Black Library anthology novel, one of the "....of the Space Marines" books. I forget which. Lords of Preyspire
Ok. So it's from the treacheries of the space marines book. Looks like it's just a cover and non of the stories are oracles related. Thanks again Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/333795-identifying-the-origins-of-a-piece-of-art/#findComment-4748723 Share on other sites
Kol Saresk
Yeah, there was a contest for fans to submit an Oraclesof Change related story but none of them were deemed well-written enough to make into the anthology so they kept the art and then had a story featuring a Flesh Tearers Chaplain fighting some Oracles IIRC. Lords of Preyspire
Ahhh that's interesting. Thanks for the knowledge. I guess I'll still get it and give it a read. I like flesh tearers and I'm in the oracles camp so I feel like I have to. It's a cool piece of art though. Love the silver extra bits. Lords of Preyspire
So I gave it a read. Entertaining story, Andy Smillie writes good and bloody combat. It's a shame that the Oracles aren't named. We get the cultists of the brotherhood of change, a sorcerer named Abasi Amun and mentions of a war zone Khandax. I'll do a bit more diggin and see if I can confirm anything, it would be cool to add these bits to the wiki page.
