Oh wow, they are so cool!! i'm going to be gunning for a minimum of 3 of the deathwatch sets and probably more knowing me.

That sorcerer is just gorgeous and the plastic blight drone!!! (forge world:hey you guys can't call it a blight drone, we already have a thing called a blight drone. GW: oh... bloat drone? forge world: like, a fresh bloat drone? GWno, a foetid one.)

I'm actually not a fan of the sorcerer never been a fan of non helmeted marines he needs a helm. I just hope sorcerers still fight like marines and not hit like Gretchen as the AOS versions. Damn I'll probably grab a couple or more boxes just for the conversion bits as I can already picture the bits being used on other miniatures :D

I'm just glad GW gave us 7 plague marines though it makes you wonder will any of this death guard stuff get multi part kits down the track as I'd hate it if they were like the chosen or cultists from dark vengeance :(

Edit :

Still hope of multi part plague marine kit as there is quite a few plague marines from the original reveal a few months ago who were not shown as part of the set mainly this guy

Also, if you've not seen in the 8th ed topic.  Forge World just made a post on there 8th ed update

Further down in the 8th ed post today, you can find the Chaos faction book, along with object marker, maelstrom cards, etc..  I honesty didn't notice them due to looking that the Nurgle Marines models.

Man these guys look great. When this set comes out this is so going to be an instant buy for me. All these models just look so characterful and evil, Especially all those unsettling grins from the Poxwalkers. I just cannot wait to see what conversions can be done with them.

Speaking of the models, Anyone else notice that the Plague Marine on the front left of the image bears a striking resemblance to the converted plague marines of online hobbyist "Morback"?  Website Link for comparison: http://leskouzes.blogspot.com.au/search/label/Plaguebones

I think it was stated somewhere that he is one of the designers of the new Nurgle stuff which is why all the Nurgle stuff is heavily influenced by his previous conversions

I think a simple head swap by carving off the ugly fuggers head replacing it with the cowed blight king head will make the sorcerer far better looking.

Absolutely! The drone however is amazing, same goes for the Termi lord and the bell dude. The bell is so over the top, it's killer.

I'm actually rather dismayed! O_O

Obviously they're snap-together because they're posed so generically but I was expecting a much larger force and more dynamic posing. That lord is awesome, the plague marines themselves are passable, but the sorcerer and the... Apostle?... aren't very imposing. That sorcerer's baby face, that apostle's apron... why???

The Sorcerer reminds me of a worse version of the Forge World model, right down to the swollen foot that's burst through the armour.

I hate when they add 'magic' to psyker/wizard models like that though. It always looks stupid, no matter how well they paint the effect... it's just too solid and thick to look anything but part of a toy. Well, that and the horrendous baby face.

The rest of the line looks great though.

OH MY BABIES! YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!

Except for the sorcerer, you're getting the knife, bud.

BUT!

Before any of you start converting, keep this in mind. You're getting more bits, multi-part kits ARE coming! These guys are NOT in the starter, meaning they're part of independent kits.

THE NURGLE PARTY DOESN'T STOP!

Down with the Witch's Head!

Aside from that, the Nurgle guys are just great. Love the Adrian Smith look on the Lord!

Also glad that I didn't order another Blight Drone ahead of the release - might have to green stuff one to mine now.

Guess that means I will be finishing those DG lost in the Warp. Heed the Lament of the Unfinished!

A mixed bag in my opinion, really digging the drone and a couple of the Plague marines (mainly the rear two) but I just feel the rest are all too busy. Liking the others that we've seen in the previous previews but not in the starter set much more however.

I am very happy with this.

My only wish: please may there be a new Typhus when the rest of the range is released!

I'd be surprised if we didn't see him tbh. I could see them following a sort of routine where they put out a Daemon Primarch alongside of one of their 'Normie' SC's (Ahiriman, Typhus, Lucius, I guess Khârn received a new model recently?)

They look fine to me, but im not much for nurgle, so im not sure if i'll be picking up this box set. Depends on how easy it is to include some nurgle stuff in a larger undivided csm army, and how much you lose by doing so. I had considered getting some rubricks back when they were released, but the rules really only encouraged their use within a dedicated 1ksons army....

I'm somewhat annoyed that the forgeworld rules seem to be in their standard obnoxiously oversized and overpriced hardcover books, instead of the game table and wallet friendly softcover indeces that gw's doing. Even if i end up wanting to get it, I'm not going to have funds left to buy the starter after spending upwards of us$100 on the rules for just my dreadclaw alone. >:|
