How do you guys plan on kitting your Stormwolf/Stormfang?

So curious how people plan to kit out their Stormwolves for 8th edition, mostly because I am in the process of building my Stormwolf. I was originally going to go for multi-melta's but now Heavy Bolters are looking nice also.  Before I start glueing things together was trying to see what people thought.

Based on Valerian's post in "Some Leaked Space Wolves 8e Rules", here are some rumored stats.

8th ed Twin-linked Heavy Bolter

  - 36", Heavy 6, S5, AP -1, D:1

8th ed Twin-linked Multi-Melta

  - 24", Heavy 2, S8, AP -4, D:D6, If Target is within half range (12") roll 2D6 for damage and discard the lowest result

Skyhammer doesn't have stats right now but maybe we can guesstimate based of Frag/Krak.

my guess for Skyhammer: 60", Heavy D6, S4, AP 0, D:D6???

8th ed Frag: 48", Heavy D6, S4, AP 0, D:1

8th ed Krak: 48", Heavy 1, S8, AP -2, D:D6

(Current Skyhammer: 60", Heavy 3, S7, AP 4)

(Current Frag: 48", Heavy 1, S7, AP 4)

(Current Krak: 48", Heavy 1, S8, AP 3)

I used my Stormwolves as monster/tank hunters primarily in 7th ed and it looks like they'll continue to be good at their job in 8th ed. I don't plan on changing their loadout from the current 2 twin-linked multi-meltas, twin-linked lascanon, and twin-linked helfrost. I'm hoping that helfrost does multiple wounds like the lascanon and multi-melta do. With just the lascanon and 2 multi-melta, on a perfect roll, you're looking at 36 wounds. If the helfrost does D6, there's another possible 12 wounds added on.

My Stormwolves will still wreck tanks like nobody's business, but now they'll be even better at putting the fear of Russ into some FMCs too.

Unfortunately magnetizing isnt an option. Not enough room and have a little one so dont want to lose things.

I agree nighthowler. My plan was to drop off 15 blood claw and a wolf priest to unleash some melee fury, while the stormwolf would protect them from heavy armor from overhead. It just feels that is how they were designed to be used. But didnt want to confuse personal feeling with actual strategy.

I guess I could proxy the meltas when needed.

I never glued the sponson weapons on to my Stormwolf from when I first built it and I'm actually pretty glad I did because I now think I'll be using heavy bolters instead of multi meltas. 12 HB shots sounds pretty tasty to me. My Stormfang will definitely have the MM on it though. It'll be a purposed tank/MC killer.

So here are the points as we know them for each.

Stormwolf

Lascannon, multi melta loadout 353

Lascannos, heavy bolter loadout 279

Stormfang

Lascannon, multi melta loadout 343

Lascannos, heavy bolter loadout 269

Interestingly the missile options aren't in the leaked sheets. It's possible they are one of the missile options in the regular marine wargear list now.

It looks like I'm human have to convert my multimeltas to heavy holders for my storm wolves, if only to save the points. The Stormfang is more anti tank so it can keep tge melta.
