What should the second weapon options on a Jump Pack Captain with a Powerfist be? I'm thinking either Combi-Melta or a Storm Shield. I think he'll spend some time hanging out with a Combi-Plasma Drop Pod Kill Team.

I'd rather he have a Thunderhammer, but that power fist is glued on good.

IMO having a 3+ Invul is very good in 8th, with his only real weakness being Mortal Wounds.  That being said, he shoots at BS 2+ so it does sort of waste that potential.  I guess I'd say it'll depend on your meta; if it's Psyker-heavy, then just take the gun, otherwise the SS is just too good to leave behind.

I ended up just magnetizing it. Also, just wanted to make sure, if you're playing that Captains get SIA, they still don't get it on a Master Crafted Boltgun, right?

 

That's a very good question.  I'd say no from a RAW standpoint, but it's definitely a point worthy of some debate.
