Icechiang
Oh they did? I didn't know that. I just wish deathwatch did. Its in the black library and what not. Moostick
Too many different Chapters' gene seeds to deal with. Apothecary Union says it's too much work and not in their contract. Irbis
Oh they did? I didn't know that. I just wish deathwatch did. Its in the black library and what not. Well, they were hard to spot because they were upgrade no one took in an unit almost no one took (Paladins), but yeah, GK had TDA apothecaries since 5th edition. And yes, it would be nice if we had, they can be even found in GW painter's armies (see below), but sadly, DW had to get two of the worst GW writers for their Codex... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-Qg3pl9GDs Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334082-deathwatch-leaked-rules/page/6/#findComment-4776601 Share on other sites
leth
Techmarines and Apoths have been in the role playing game since forever. The reason we didnt get them is because they dont have a plastic model for them.....which is stupid. Same with all the razorback, and dreadnaught options.....hopefully FW doesn't artificially limit us like this. Look at command squad, or at the above video, it has plastic Apothecary with DW arm despite being from 2012. Ditto for dreads, in 8th edition codex DW lost several plastic arm options, including some that were in 7th edition book, so in both cases even 'no plastic' excuse doesn't hold. The DW rules writers are sadly incompetent it seems Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334082-deathwatch-leaked-rules/page/6/#findComment-4777477 Share on other sites

Same with all the razorback, and dreadnaught options.....hopefully FW doesn't artificially limit us like this. It would have been done if GW simply took the sprue from the Command Squad, added Deathwatch upgrade pauldrons and we could have had our Apothecary. They did that with the Librarian and the Rhino and the Land Raider. So why not them? :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334082-deathwatch-leaked-rules/page/6/#findComment-4777499 Share on other sites
Vel'Cona
This is doing the rounds in another thread, but IMO repair/heal abilities are subpar under the new ruleset. Some disagree, but that's my stance. Too often I believe models are going to be removed well before you get a chance to heal them, because in 8th edition if the opponent wants something dead he probably has a way to do it. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334082-deathwatch-leaked-rules/page/6/#findComment-4777780 Share on other sites
leth
Can still bring back a model here and there. Restore a centurion to a squad on a 4+? Does it once it nearly pays for itself. Durability has gone way up this edition. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334082-deathwatch-leaked-rules/page/6/#findComment-4778027 Share on other sites

Durability has gone way up this edition. Yup. And it's even more important in DW seeing pretty in(s)ane prices of some upgrades. Raise terminator with AC/vet with frag? That's your apothecary completely free right there... Vel'Cona
Guess we'll have to see how much of an impact it has on SM armies, and deal with what we have in the meantime.
