Geoffy
Hey guys, Here is my other loyalist list I've been considering instead of running loyalist sons. Trying to use immortals. Let me know what you think! Plan is immortals footslog up while the caestus carries mor and the gorgons to their target with +2 on the ramming damage roll. I'm Planning on putting orth in a Cerberus that I haven't included. I will have to drop some points for it methinks (can't remember points value). Iron Hands Legiones Astartes Spearhead-Centurion Castrmen Orth 80 Iron-Father Autek Mor: Rite of War (Company of Bitter Iron); Cyber-familiar 240 15 Medusan Immortals: Veteran Sergeant (artificer armour; power fist; volkite charger; breaching charge; Cyber-familiar); 14 Medusan Immortals; 11 × volkite charger; 3 × graviton gun 465 15 Medusan Immortals: Veteran Sergeant (artificer armour; power fist; volkite charger; breaching charge; Cyber-familiar); 14 Medusan Immortals; 11 × volkite charger; 3 × graviton gun 465 9 Gorgon Terminators: Gorgon Hammerbearer (Cyber-familiar); 8 Gorgon Terminators; 5 × power axe; 3 × chainfist; graviton gun 395 Xiphon Pattern Interceptor: ground-tracking auguries; chaff launcher; armoured cockpit; blessed autosimulacra 235 Caestus Assault Ram: frag assault launchers; auxiliary drive; blessed autosimulacra 335 2,215 points Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334200-2500-iron-hands/ Share on other sites
Caillum
A couple of thoughts for you Geoffy... Autek Mor is a beast - good choice. So is Orth. But they are from different clans. Pretty unfluffy to have them working together (unless Orth is just representing another tank commander). Get Mor into combat fast - the earliest that will be with a Caestus is Turn 3, provided you don't roll poorly for Reserves. Cerberus is just under 400 points, so you'll need to trim some fat. Definitely give it armoured ceramite. It's a non-competitive choice, but it's tough as nails. Taking 2 units of footslogging Immortals is probably not ideal. They are super-expensive, slow and they want to be in the enemy deployment zone for Hatred AND Stubborn. Sticking a 20-man squad in a Spartan and a 10-man Tactical Squad in a Rhino gives you some flexibility... Be mindful that graviton guns are Heavy Blast weapons, so they can't fire Snap Shots - probably not worth it. Caestus is cool, but I wouldn't take all those upgrades on it. The Gorgons are going last anyway, so frag grenades won't help. Even Mor is going to go after other Characters due to his I4. What would you add in to tilt more competitively? I'm not stuck on the Cerberus at all. Maybe 2 Spartans full of immortals as well? I'm fine dropping orth too. Only taking him to buff the caestus. Appreciate the feedback! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334200-2500-iron-hands/#findComment-4776780 Share on other sites
