Ragnar's Great Company and TWC Fluff

Recommended Posts

Is there any fluff supporting TWC in Ragnar's great company? I always assumed there would be since he is so "Fast attack" oriented but I've never read any fluff about them.

Ragnar's fluff has had him as the Drop Pod assault specialist for a pretty long time, and he has an abundance of different types of 'Claws' units.  TWC don't really lend themselves to "Claws of Russ" style drop pod assaults.  If you look at the composition of his Great Company at one point in time in recent in-universe history, on page 27 of the 7e codex, you'll see that he didn't have any TWC at all.  Of course, that might have changed in the time between the Sanctus Prime campaign and now, but we don't have any background information indicating it.

Now, I don't mean TWC jumping out of Drop Pods... I mean utilizing them.

It doesn't say in the 7e Codex that Ragnar Blackmane had any Stormwolf or Stormfang flyers.. nor did it say he had any tanks. Skyclaws and Swiftclaws don't fit in drop pods either yet we also know they exist in Ragnar's company. Aren't TWC just Wolf guard riders anyway? I can imagine TWC being drop off ahead of the Drop Pod assault to scout and clear landing zones for the incoming forces.

I guess the answer I'm looking for is no fluff exists. Thanks for the responses.

Sorry, I was not being a smartaleck. Atleast no on purpose. I generally snorted at the image because whenever I help out with my sisters dogs (she has 4 beagles) they utterly freak out in the car.

Nothing official exists in the fluff because most of the recent Wolf stuff in fluff has been 30k or focused on a single squad.

And its a great company. I refuse to believe Ragnar never had a single squad of dudes trying to mount a thunderwolf.

You do you brother, and take pics for us.

I never figured you were.. but I know I didn't necessarily go into depth of what I was getting at! =P

Wispy, that's basically what I was thinking. I've been playing SWs since 2012 and I've pretty much had Drop Pods and TWC from the beginning. Just wondered how much fluff I've had along with my Army as thematic lists are more what I'm about these days.
