Hljodir Duskwalker
Or is there something in the fluff that prevents psykers from being promoted into the wolfguard and subsequently wolflord? Valerian
Yeah, the Rune Priests take a whole separate path. They're in the Priesthood, and are a part of the Company of the Great Wolf, not in the regular Great Companies, so they'd never have the opportunity to be elevated to Wolf Guard, and from there elevated to being a Wolf Lord. They've a different role to fill for the Chapter, and they focus on doing that. Guest
You know one formation i miss was the War Council. Had they changes it a little it really was nice and showed how SW rules. Grimnar was the normal warrior that most could relate to and was the leader. Wolf Priest advised on matters of morale, troop conditions such as injuries and sickness, and training. Iron Priests advised on matters of Dreadnought status, weapons, vehicles, the Aett mechanical defenses, tech priest manning such as the forges and pilots, and the machine spirit condition. Rune Priests advised on matters of the spirits of Fenris, rune ward defenses of the Aett, along with historic information, and various matters of psyker business. The wolves were lead by a council, while yes Grimnar was the leader there would be times the other leaders would stand up to him. There were times when Ulrik would stand up to Ragnar, and though never directly fight not having Ulriks favor meant he lost the confidence and favor of his men. The priests may not have the direct power of The Great Wolf/Wolf Lord, but if they abandon him the SWs may not follow The Great Wolf/Wolf Lord and would eventually abandon him. This is great because it shows how both Nordic Tribes functioned and to a lesser degree how canine packs work. I had a alpha dog be ignored by my eldest dog and probably strongest and I started noticing how my other dogs would take the alphas toy when not looking. Eventually he had to retreat to a lower rank that allowed a Dachshund, yes a Dachshund those hounds are crazy though, to actually become alpha. Since then Dachshunds are one of my favorite, things dont give two pennies about anything other than food and killing toys. Never seen a dog destroy toys so fast or have tri-tip teeth.
