WIP Ravenwing characters and converted Black Knights

A long time ago, I converted some DV Bikers to a Ravenwing Command Squad that I used with Sammael and an Int Chaplain on a bike, but now the 3 special guys (Apoth, Champion, Ancient) are characters and the command squad no longer exists. Soooo, I picked up some cheap vanilla bikers on eBay and converted them to Black Knights. Turns out the plasma pistols I used for the plasma talons actually fit right into the gun slots on the biker shield. and look better than the converted DV bikers. All models are WIP and not even close to done being painted (obviously). Threw some Black Knight bits onto the bikers to spruce them up a tad, and started painting my Apoth and Champion (because he's gonna be a badass character with 2+ hit in CC, S7, -3 AP and D3 damage).

Man, a long time ago? Now I feel old, my command Squad has boltguns, bashed together from regular bikers and the command squad box...haven't used them much recently.

 

Plasma pistols do look pretty good there, don't they! Certainly cheaper than getting actual black knights, though we'll see if plasma pistol bits stay that cheap this edition. Painting looks good too, what's the final color you're going for on your plasma coils?

I usually paint the plasma coils a bright blue. Start by painting them white, then use a heavily thinned splash of blue to get into the creases, then dry brush with white to make the coils pop.
