World Eaters , Khorne Daemons, KDK for 8th Edition

So help me out here....

KDK doesn't really exist anymore, but it kind of does.

Now I realize I can make an army of Khorne faction keyword but then I lose the World Eater benefit which as I understand it is a paltry bonus of using Berzerkers as Troops, correct?

Conversely I imagine I miss out on something if I go pure Daemons (I'm guessing)

So do I make 2 detachments, 2 being Khorne Daemons, and the other being World Eaters? Or do I create the same 2 detachments using a single shared Faction keyword (Khorne)?

Prot, you don't have to choose a keyword for your detachment. The units in the detachment just have to have at least one keyword in common - "chaos" will do nicely.

Every astartes unit has to choose a legion. If you choose World Eaters then those units gain the World Eaters bonuses. It has nothing to do with the detachment. So you can mix as much as you want and not miss out on any bonuses. That bit comes from the HQ units, who buff legion or god specific units exclusively, making it a smart choice to limit your unit shopping spree a bit.

Ah okay!

I was under the assumption that whatever Faction Keyword every unit was using within a detachment became exclusive and I could only use bonuses derived from that keyword.

This is great to know. I think a few people are under the incorrect assumption of losing benefits as I described, but this certainly makes mixing my Daemons into the appropriate Legion a lot easier. Thanks for clearing that up.

Now to figure out the best way of getting Zerkers, Bloodthirsters, and Khârn all laying the beat down on the same detachment;)

Np, man! I thought the same thing initially. Was really bummed that my converted cataphractii sekhmet terminators weren't usable within a Ksons list - but now at least I can field them as non-Thousand sons terminators (vanilla termies can't be Thousand Sons, and Scarab Occult can't have axes, powerfists, combimeltas etc...).
I like this keyword system though. Allows for a lot of flexibility while still rewarding people for staying mostly within a faction. Makes listbuilding a lot of fun :)
