Gherrick
Perhaps a 5+ FNP akin to Bjorn would help a bit. As is, yeah, he is just too fragile. Nrthstar
Too bad to. I had traded my DG for him. It was still worth it as I hated the old model. The new one is fantastic, and Logan has gotten a good deal of play teleporting in with squads of Tda wg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334508-is-logan-grimnar-on-sled-worth-it-in-8th/page/2/#findComment-4839818 Share on other sites
Evilmerlin
On foot, he is fine. On the sled...no...Can be targeted AND he drops to 3+ save?! What....I expected an improvement in stats...and not him becoming worse... Kasper_Hawser
Honestly I pretend the sled doesn't exist in my mind. Wishful thinking I know but after 3 years, I still can't make it work in my head, both in fluff and crunch. Waking Dreamer
Would Stormrider be worth it if Logan could leap out of it after they destroyed the vehicle? Say, when Stormrider's wounds are reduced to zero, Logan Grimnar disembarks 3" with d6 wounds remaining, using his Terminator Armour profile for the rest of the game. Wolf Guard Dan
It would be much better. But I don't know if it is worth the cost. I would rather just deep strike him where I needed him than spend the points to get shot at in the sleigh. I've long wondered why he can't simply do that. Sadly I simply chalk it up to GW idiocy back in the terrible days of 6th and 7th. If sergeant Chronus can get out of his damn tank after it is destroyed, Logan should be able allowed to do the same. that would be extremely cool and make me consider painting and using the damn sled, as it turns the nearly 300 point unit into 2 separate weapons. One may even think of deploying the sleigh on the ground while Logan deepstrikes later, getting on for mobility. Gherrick
Allowing the sled to be a vehicle with a transport of 1 (and restricted to Logan) would be great, A huge issue with the two-in-one is the 10+ wounds on a character. With "only" 12 wounds and T6 3+/4++, a plasma/lascannons will make quick work of him. He would also need a 5+FnP like Bjorn. Kasper_Hawser
Maybe not FNP, but i prefer something an army buff with a little more oomph than just fearless wolf guard. Azrael has his widespread 4++ AND gives an extra CP. Shrike is fast, can deepstrike and gives reroll charges. Helbrecht essentially gives furious charge Pedro gives +1 attack I'm not even going to talk about Calgar, less I go into a tirade on how good the smurfs get. Oh and one other thing, MAKE ARJAC ABLE TO LOOK OUT SIR FOR LOGAN! Despite having an army of Wolf Guard, nobody seems to want to take wounds for the boss. Not even his champion. I had six snipers shoot at Logan the other day and got 5 mortal wounds. And what was Arjac doing? Pretending to be Thor. It literally has FOUR storm shields hooked up together! Thats enough storm shields to protect Logan, the 2 thunderstorms and the war chariot. I understand the 3+ armour save to represent the un-armoured thunderwolves and open-top chariot, so T6 W12 3+/3++ isn't too bad considering you can only have 1 in your army and will be the lascannon magnet. Logan disembarking afterwards with d6 wounds left definitely adds some mileage as well. Throw in an extra army buff from Logan while on the chariot (possibly something that helps out TWC), and yeah Stormrider might be used more often. DanPesci
I really just hope they remove the sled in the new codex to be honest haha. Awful model/concept (imo of course) combined with bad rules. Nope. Get logan back to being a CC beast and army buffer that he was back in 5th. They're there to smash the pants off whoever you cant currently be bothered to deal with yourself :D Kasper_Hawser 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334508-is-logan-grimnar-on-sled-worth-it-in-8th/page/2/#findComment-5017691 Share on other sites

They're there to smash the pants off whoever you cant currently be bothered to deal with yourself True but sadly, this is one of the things that makes sense in fluff, but not in rules, arguably leaving your Jarl vulnerable despite being surrounded by his best friends. And in Champions of Fenris, Arjac did take a few Deathmark hits off Logan. Guest
The champions job is not a body guard but to act on behalf of the Jarl when he can not be there. It can also be the one to take his place in a fight when the Jarl is too weak. Wolf Guard are the body guards and should be the ones with the option to look out sir. Kasper_Hawser
Why he defeated a Daemon Primarch, pretty sure he can take care of himself. I would like to say i agree with you but sadly that ain't what happened. He didn't defeat a DP. It was just a case of "Just as planned" by Khorne for once trolling Tzeetch. Small consolation after an entire campaign book of the Space Wolves getting trolled by Thousand Sons. Point is, after having my Logan sniped by bloody NEOPHYTES, now I see the need for bodyguard units even with character rules. Gherrick
It does seem appropriate that all chapter masters would have a retinue of bodyguards, especially in a warzone...and the WG are even described as HIS, so yeah. DanPesci
It would be nice for WG to get something like that. Or have a 'shieldbearer' type elite similar to an apothecary that is there to soak wounds instead. OR (haha), have loneowlvees be able to choose a different 'saga' to fulfill at the start of the game..but lose you a VP if not achieved by the end of the game. eg. 'Shieldbearer', 'giantslayer' etc etc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334508-is-logan-grimnar-on-sled-worth-it-in-8th/page/2/#findComment-5020619 Share on other sites
