(I'm following a pretty basic information data slate, please bear in mind this is forumulation only, nothing is final or set in steel.)

Name: Byzantius Prime

Classification: Forgeworld

Environment: Ash Wastes

Segmentum: Ultima

Sector: Ultima 674

Subsector: Erstos

System: Byzantius

Capital: Torsis Alpha

Population: ~570,000,000

Affiliation: Imperium
Production Grade: Exactis Particular

Tithe Grade: Aptus Non

Foundation: M.39(?).790

Sigil: A reverse B paired with a half-skull and half-gear atop a horizontal wrench.

Colors: outside white cloth, inside red cloth, black pants/jump suits, red markings, coppery colors instead of gold. (Inspired by Metalica Forge World, seriously, "Metalica"? Awesome...)

Specialty: Reputed to produce the highest quality Laser and Shield power cells in the Segmentum. Markedly high energy retention and stability in energy distribution.

Planet: Bazanius Prime is largely a low activity volcanic world covered in deserts and mountain ranges of black ash and rock. Because of it's dense volcanic mantle, high quality and rare metals are mined from it's crust which are used to produce their signature power cells. The planet's dry, sulfurous atmosphere is also highly conducive to electrical and ion storms which have grown in frequency and severity since the emergence of the colossal warp storms throughout the sector.

Tell me what you think so far? (6/10/2017)

The geographical and technological detail is welcome, but I'm more interested in the social and cultural details. How has Byzantius Prime's harsh environment affected the lifestyles and outlooks of its colonists? Do they live Spartan lifestyles, viewing comforts and luxuries with contempt, like those of Medusa (the Iron Hands Chapter planet)? Do they "work hard and live grandly," with decadent parties at night, like those of Shu-Torun (see the graphic novel 'Star Wars: Darth Vader Vol. 3: The Shu-Torun War')? Do they have any peculiar superstitions, e.g., praying to an open flame in hopes they won't suffer misfortune if or when a volcano erupts, or ritual bloodletting atop a lasgun to appease its machine spirit and make the weapon more accurate?
Culture is something I'm working on. They are pretty much orthodox as far as mechanics can be without being irreparably bullheaded. I like to think they have a desire to advance but without any alien interference and through strict guidelines for testing. With guilliman launching a new crusade against New and terrifying enemies that know or use our tech inside and out, this is the time to forge ahead with lessons of the past.
