Wolf Lord in 8th

Interesting development. So would the Frost Axe/Sword and Chainfist combo be seen as a viable Terminator Wolf Lord build? I have no problem sticking with the classic Chainfist/Storm Shield combo, but if he's better served with a second weapon in 8th edition than a storm shield I want to make him as powerful as possible in CC.

I don't think a second weapon is all that helpful, as all it does is give you a choice to have a weaker 2+ to hit weapon or a stronger 3+ to hit weapon. I think the protection of the storm shield far exceeds the value of the weapon options.

Interesting modeling option. Valerian is probably right, you are better served with a Stormshield if you are going choppy.

 

But my opinion is that a combi weapon would be better utility. Stormshield is less important to a character now that we can hide behind infantry. With few weapons capable of dealing multiwound shots from a mobile angle, you can best serve adding firepower to your infantry while rerolling 1s.

Relic blades still work since they are a separate switch option and not from the melee list.
