Jackalwolf
So I've always been a fan of the III Legion before their fall. Admittedly, before they found their Primarch and the insecurities of Fulgrim and the Chemosian recruits perverted the noble search for perfection of the noble sons of Europa and distorted it into a superiority complex. So here is where I got thus far in recreating the origins of the third. I've got a second squad where all the purple is done already but I'm a bit paused on this project currently since now I'm building my wolves and just got started on a primaris army for the Red Scorpions. http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah128/Grieux/Legio%20III/B2A95E87-1519-49AA-B962-64936D2E6522_zps3ugnscdv.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah128/Grieux/Legio%20III/B17EAA8F-3E86-41D4-BE54-4C9B85D08EA4_zpsgivk9jsq.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah128/Grieux/Legio%20III/A1D6F79B-0A95-48FC-B068-101D09DDB5F7_zpsmp5375a1.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah128/Grieux/Legio%20III/05616DC0-A595-47B2-8925-E3145BA3FE51_zpsfww8978v.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah128/Grieux/Legio%20III/A7C68E0C-675B-4E50-AEE4-BFBFEC3CAF5B_zpsbqyudvvp.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah128/Grieux/Legio%20III/A2150308-25BE-4938-8285-309A2E412849_zpsx5id0jwl.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah128/Grieux/Legio%20III/6E582F3F-65CF-4BD2-9D0B-3D88DD4C3D88_zpstdppxgly.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah128/Grieux/Legio%20III/5336E8A0-809A-4B4F-AB94-A9C7F9740B8E_zpsr09rebkq.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334543-the-children-of-europa/ Share on other sites

Jackalwolf
Thank you all and sure, no problemo! Purple Painting Recipe: 1. Prime black 2. Basecoat of Phoenician Purple + Abaddon Black (1:1) 3. Basecoat again with Phoenician Purple leaving the recesses and the counter-zenithal parts with the previous coat to give contrast in the shade 4. 'Sketch' where the highlights will be with Slaanesh Grey 5. Airbrush a very thin layer of Phoenician Purple to tie the colors together 6. Airbrush highlights following your previous sketch with Chemos Purple blending the areas with highlights with the rest of the armor 7. Airbrush a final gentle spot highlight with Chemos Purple + Slaanesh Grey (1:1) 8. Edge highlight with Slaanesh Grey Gold Painting Recipe: 1. Basecoat with several thin layers of Retributor Armour 2. Generous filter of Reikland Fleshshade 3. Wash from the mid point to where you want shadows with Agrax Earthshade Gloss 4. Wash the recesses with Agrax Earthshade + Nuln Oil (1:1, non-gloss) 5. Pin wash the points of highest shade with Nuln Oil Gloss 6. Tidy the highlights with Retributor Armour diluted with Lahmian medium 7. Edge highlight with Liberator Gold *The use of gloss and non gloss is to ensure that we finish with a nice shiny surface whilst allowing the non-gloss shades to get a better grip and therefore tint better the underlying color.
