Bloody Legionnaire
I remember reading somewhere last week that the mold for the Lucius Dreadnought Drop Pod was broken and there was no ETA on it's return. It isn't even listed on FWs website anymore.. Does anyone know if they're going to be brought back? I'm hoping that it'll end up in plastic for 8th edition but we'll see how that one goes. m0nolith
Penndraig mentioned that he talked to the FW guys over at Warhammer fest, and according to them they are redesigning it in CAD to give it more detail. Unfortunately that may take 12-15 months according to them. IMO another possibility is that GW may do it in plastic since the new codex doesn't allow regular dreads to take drop pods any more, but this more just hope on my part and isn't based on any info. MajorWesJanson
GW could do a larger Drop pod kit, make it a combo kit- dreadnought/primaris troops m0nolith 1 Back to top
Jolemai
This isn't news, a rumour, nor an announcement, so I've moved it to Amicus. Also, you've asked this before; may I suggest patience? If there was something of note, you'll hear all about it on the B&C - or you can badger FW on Facebook :) Race Bannon 1 Back to top
Race Bannon
Why not use a GW pod to counts-as?
NovemberIX
There's also the plans for the "French drop pod" (from a French edition of Black Gobbo) floating around on the Internet should anyone feel like taking a stab at scratch building their own dread pod. Hfran Morkai
Why not use a GW pod to counts-as? If the OP is anything like me it's because they want the Drop Pod to feel more appropriate in size for carrying a Dread. I'm secretly hoping they rescale it too so it's not too difficult to imagine a Contemptor fitting inside (from what I understand with the old one it'd have to be built around the Dread and be torn open on landing hah. Seen some in EBay for ridiculous money...
Bloody Legionnaire
I have no problem with a counts as temporary.. I was just curious to know if anyone had any real information about it. I figured it was a pretty popular FW item but no one is talking about it.

If the OP is anything like me it's because they want the Drop Pod to feel more appropriate in size for carrying a Dread. So ... What did people do before 8th edition when GW Drop Pods could carry Dreads? To be fair, I have one Drop Pod with nothing inside it, so it can carry Dreadnoughts. So, if the Dreadnought Drop Pod is in the FW index, I'll use the rules for that with the existing pod I had if I want dreadnoughts dropping out of the sky. Saying that, I might also want a dread on the back of each Stormraven I have for my RG too... Race Bannon 1 Back to top
Jolemai
It is in the Index, yes. Alternatively, one could use a Dreadclaw (FW or conversion from plastic) or even a Kharibdys as a count-as Lucius to make them stand out. (As an aside, I believe Fires of Cyraxes sees the Red Scorpions have Imperial rules for those but we'll see what happens there.) Hfran Morkai
So ... What did people do before 8th edition when GW Drop Pods could carry Dreads? Some people would have used FW pods with GW rules, others just used plastic pods. Unfortunately I was out of the game since 5th and came back for 30K due to the VIth Legion getting rules, I want an Orbital Assault list and Dreads feature, I'd quite like to buy the Dread pods personally. ANevskyUSA
Yeah...I'm just going to assemble a regular Citadel plastic drop pod without the gun and the internal harness bits and consider it good. The old FW Lucius drop pods were ridiculously expensive - something like £65.
