terminators

Still a sore spot to me, we don't get Cat or Tart Terminators.  I wouldn't care, but I started building 30k, and painted in my dark paint scheme so I could use them in either 30 or 40k.  Thankfully all I assembled of the termies were legs and torsos.  Now I'm debating if I even want to play 30k, or just use all those badass looking mk III and IV for 40k, and not waste tons of money getting more 30k stuff, despite having a Russ, the model I most proud of painting wise.  I could still run them in 40k, but they would be a different chapter, not benefiting from any of our buffs, and not feeling fluffy to me.

 

 

 

I thought it was this thread, must of been another one, someone mentioned "How many WGTDA can I run for 2k?"  So last night I made a list, 2 detachments, both Vanguard, Logan on foot and Arjac as HQ, though Njal would be nice to have as an alternative.  6 squads total, 5 man a piece.  For simplicity sake, I kept them all the same, but I think 2 should be switched to combi squads.  Currently, 2x TH/SS, 1x Dual Claw, 1x AssCan/PF, 1x Wolf claw/SB.  Did it in bed, so I used battlescribe, which isn't totally accurate yet, but this came up to 1900 roughly, giving me some points still free.

 

So 30 Termie bodies, 6 asscans which are awesome now, 12 TH/SS to soak up wounds.  Deploy half down, march them forward, depending on deployment type, advance or shoot.  The other half comes in, likely in front of the back line (so my two combi squads would be in the back) with Logan and Arjac firmly in the middle to buff as many as possible, and be sandwiched from almost all shooting, but deployed close enough to the front squads to heroic intervene if possible.  It is a sizeable footprint, keep them tight, too, so charging just an individual squad would be tough, so you can get as much overwatch as possible.

 

The only thing that bugs me is the lack of rerollable charge distance buff.  Although early in the game that's what I use my CP for, since it is more reliable to reroll one of your two dice, if you have a 5+ than it is to reroll both.

Are there any models that can take teleport homers in sw list?

 

Probably from the default marine options a second teleport looks nice

Just use your Catiphractii as regular terminators.

 

They look more brutal. But we get some diversity in weapons anyway.

I play too many tournaments for that, and honestly, despite the fact that I agree that they look badass (ditch all the leather throngs and replace with green stuffed wolf fur) I don't like a bunch of counts as/proxy. A good conversion is fine. Putting a unit down and saying, "oh that's the model for one thing, but I'm not using it that way" erks me. Maybe my opponent won't care, maybe they will. I know it would bother me.
