Hear da Lamentation
Now rhinos are so expensive what do you think of footslogging troops in 8th? Are they going to survive what looks to be an increase in lethality of shooting? Valerian
Almost all of the mission scenarios play with objectives, and a low mobility army will always struggle when you're forced to move around the battlefield to achieve your mission. They might be able to survive, but they won't be able to get to where they need to be. Frater Cornelius
I think it is risky not having a front line of either assault troops or armour. A lot of armies can get solid T1 charges (I am looking at you, Nids Oo) and other can capable of heavy alpah strike, like SW themselves. You need redudancy. While I do not thik that everything need to be in Rhinos, at least your front-line should be. Also, consider Razorbacks. They bring excellen firepower and are insignificanly more expensive. ORKILL
Power armor dies the turn after it disembarks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334702-footslogging/#findComment-4783300 Share on other sites

In regards to footslogging, SW might have an advantage over other races thanks to curse of wulfen effects from nearby packs of wulfen. I think they move further or have re rolls. I'd have to recheck the index. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334702-footslogging/#findComment-4783348 Share on other sites
Kasper_Hawser
We also have Wolf Standards to reroll 1st in Advancing so compared to vanilla marines (which we actually are anyway), grey Hunters might be slightly more speedy. Runefyre
At some point I want to test run full Blood Claw blobs with TDAWG pack leader to tank as many hits as possible, and just literally run them right at the enemy. Also with a Rune Priest running in between the units to cast Storm Caller for effectively a 2+ save on the BC's (and ignore -1 rend on the TDAWG pack leader). BC's are still cheap enough that I would still be able to include some heavy hitting deep striking units (TDAWG, PAWG in a DP) and accompanying assault elements (Wulfen would work especially good alongside BC's).
