What happened to Sons-of-Corax forum?

Never heard of it. And given the lack of response I'm guessing the same for the other guys.

Wish I'd known about it, but I've only been back in the hobby for about a year now so it might not have done me any good.

The last time I had Space Marines laying on my desk, it was there and active.

It might have been a while, but still.

I don’t even find an explanation what happened or when it disappeared by googleing…

I founded it and managed it for a few years, but after i started my degree i handed the reins over to some other members of the moderator team. I assume as time went on activity dwindled to the point that it was no longer maintained and inactive. You'll find a few members from there over here (Race Bannon, Vash, a few others as well).

That being said, the B&C has been a great home for the sons of corax. Especially here in these subforums i'm glad that we've been so focussed on tactical discussions that we're spared the kind of whinging i see in other places.

What happend there, if I may ask?

Plus: I'd give you 10.000 likes for the "that we're spared the kind of whinging i see in other places", if I could.

Well nothing out of the ordinary...just the tea and crumpets, fancy hats and assorted goodness one would expect from a Raven Guard forum. Tactical discussions were deep and varied there. Good stuff.

Anyway, when things started getting busier for me IRL, i spent less and less time at the forum, subsequently i gave power to other more active members but in time they too must have left. We didn't have enough traffic to support a singular forum, not without active participation from the moderation team.

As for the whinging...well, as i said, i'm glad the RG forums are spared from it and so was the Sons of Corax forums. I'd like to think it's because there's more discussion on possibilities rather than what "works or not".

I think this is especially important in the coming 8th Edition, from my games thus far it seems like the kind of auto-play netlists of 7th ed will be no more and players will actually need to have tactical acumen to win, rather than just bringing the sort of list which plays itself.

Ahhh … now I understand … it was a own Forum, like with an own Domain and an own System! At first I thought this was also a subforum here. Sorry, for being a bit slow with the understanding here … "a penny is no dive bomber", as my Grandma always said … biggrin.png
