Bjorn Firewalker
The Dreadnought and the Emperor's Champion look great! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334731-the-falsa-astartes-crusade/page/4/#findComment-5118449 Share on other sites
DBadger
So I've rebased about 70 minis... Probably cheap and nastily, but still. - All marines are now on 32mm bases - All captains, lieutenants, etc are on 40mm bases - All terminators are on 40mm bases (Or larger) I've done somewhat of a doomsday recording of my minis, to see where I'm at. An inventory I guess. Squaddies: 33 Modern marines (meaning not snap fit) 7 Sword brothers (modern marines) 10 Dark Angels veterans 15 Early snap fits 16 Primaris snap fits 3 Primaris flying guys 7 Terminators 5 Deathwing Knights 4 Horse riders 4 Bikers 5 Neophytes / Imperial Guardsmen (plus a hundred or so boxed up somewhere) Specials: Marshall Emperor's Champion Venerable Dreadnought Ulrik the Chaplain Iron Priest 2 Techmarines Techpriest Enginseer Vehicles: Rhaakshi titan conversion 4 Imperial Guard tanks (probably won't use) Land raider (missing in action) And then some further analysis: 41 out of 128 need basing 30 have no paint whatsoever (primed) 7 have minimal paint 10 have three colours (shoulder pads, some red) 24 are half way there 55 are painted to what I'd call a decent standard (but others probably wouldn't) and I'm going to consider finished for now So here are those that I'm considering "finished for now" until I get the rest done. And here are those still to do, ranging from no paint at all to nearly finished. Unfortunately my Deathwing Knights are there as I forgot to base them! Medjugorje
i like the DA-Knights. I play them as Aussault Terminators too. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334731-the-falsa-astartes-crusade/page/4/#findComment-5124590 Share on other sites
DBadger
So I've successfully not touched a paintbrush since I last posted. Don't know how that happened. I suck at sticking at things. Going back to my Neophytes. Might remember they looked like this, as a prototype: I've ordered some bits, so these will be what I use to make my Neophytes. I HATE scout models. Absolutely hate them. I have a ton of spare parts for IG and SM so I think the only limitation will be the number of capes and heads, as I won't be using any IG heads. I think I got 18 cloaks and 14 heads. Marshall Heber
I'm with you there, I can't stand the scout models. Anvil do a Medieval torso in their Regiments line that looked quite good. I'll be watching what you do with them for "inspiration" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334731-the-falsa-astartes-crusade/page/4/#findComment-5190704 Share on other sites
DBadger
Not much to see but some bits done. Actually this is a really bad photo. Also bought some swords for my Deathwing Knights to swap their arms for. DBadger
So here's some Neophytes. Casually avoiding the thread in the other boards about people using guardsmen as scouts... heh. Camouflage capes are too large and heavy, want patrician ones instead (Anvil). Camouflage: Hoods: And swords for my terminators. Brother Carpenter
Really live the termi pose with the sword casually in his neck. Have a marine in a similar bad ass pose. Bjorn Firewalker
I keep thinking, 'Pre-Heresy Dark Angels,' when I see the hoods. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334731-the-falsa-astartes-crusade/page/4/#findComment-5194162 Share on other sites
DBadger
My inks have gone funny (but they are ten years old!). Not sure what you'll make of this guy, especially as the only thing Black Templars hate more than heretics are librarians. But here is a Primaris Librarian with a Reiver's head, acting as a Chaplain. Will repaint it when I get some new paints. It's on me Xmas list. DBadger
I went out and bought the Citadel shade set, and have been practicing. Not sure I'm there yet. I bought a Primaris lieutenant (...dark angels again...) and am in the process of removing iconography. New replacement sword after my dog ate this terminator's power sword. Head swap on one of my terminators. This is one of the guys from the Revell set I mentioned earlier, but kitbashed. And here's my neophytes. Not quite there re:washes. The rest of them (only partly painted). And then these are some Primaris guys I got from Warhammer Conquest issues. Gradually moving towards Primaris. DBadger
So I sacrificed this guy's sword for a hammer: So that I could give the sword to this guy: Also, Dark Angels lieutenant: Close combat Primaris. DBadger
£7.50 Vindicator. Sorry, absolutely terrible lighting. So it's made of a chaos rhino from Conquest, plus a few spare bits here and there, and the nozzle from an airbed pump... Razorback: Interior concept. Printed bits. More from Conquest. Bases are from Imperial Guard battleforce.
