I have a Fire Raptor that I'd love to try within range of the Watchmaster buff. Sure I could probably only line that up for a turn..... but what a turn! :)

Now the options are limitless.  That being said, it's still sad that they have no more Lucius Drop Pods to sell. Guess I'd have to buy a regular drop pod to proxy with. 

I wouldn't say limitless. And I'll give you an example of the issue I'm having.

 

So a lot of the cool toys in the FW index take up a Heavy Support slot and mostly all have the Relic key word. We can't take a Heavy Support Relic vehicle unless we already have a heavy support choice in our army (landraider).

 

I don't, so that leads me to my question: Do you think if we go down this route to use some of the leviathan dreadnaughts, etc., would it be worth while in our "elite" army? I'm kind of on the fence. It's a little easier to use those elite and HQ choices out of the index (chaplain dread, deredeo, etc.) but we're definitely going to pay for them. Figuratively and literally.

you can always take the non-relic options they offered us as well to help with that.

 

Today i've been looking at some models i had in storage, and i'll be adding a Chaplain Venerable Dreadnought with Inferno Cannon, and a Siege Dreadnought with Multi-Melta to my list.

I've been considering the Xiphon as an option to compliment a pair of anti-infantry equipped Corvus'. You guys think that would be over the top for casual games? Was considering it for thematic purposes and wouldn't want to go pissing people off.

Maybe limitless is a strong word, but at least we have more options now. That means..... my Fellblade might actually benefit from the Watch Master's aura now..... >:D

And I highly doubt FW is gonna make anymore books, chapter specific books in particular.

 

Why? They made War Machines for Adeptus Astartes books last 3 editions, I really don't see them doing it now, especially seeing these are used to broaden customer base of 30K models.

 

I guess I found upside of that flip-flop though, I can field my sad plastic contemptor using FW rules. Would prefer to be able to use SM one for the sake of less arguments, but meh, I'll take it...

There are some decent non-relic options in the FE dex too - I plan on unlocking a slot for my Leviathan by taking a Mortis Dread.  On top of that, you've got a single rapier battery (if you want to go very cheap), whirlwind scorpius, siege dread, etc.
