8th edition flamer question.

Q. Can flamer type weapons auto. hit flyers such as night scythe, stormraven, etc.?

 

I thought that the 8" would be too short to the model. I am curious to know.

Pg. 176, Side Bar: Tools of War. Night Scyths and Stormravens come on bases. Per the side bar, you may measure too and from the edge of that base rather than the hull of the baseless model.

The interesting part is that a flamer unit on a building of the same height as the flyer stand cannot hit the flyer because the base is too far away.
