Ordo Xenos Inquisitor
I was wondering if any of you guys go for the "subtlety" element behind them and rather than field an army as CSM models in Alpha Legion colors, you bring in a mishmash of various marines (at least as normal CSM troops) and field proper Alpha Legionnaires as Chosen. What was the response of the people you've played with before? I am just curious. Galron
I haven't tried using other models but my alphas are quite often confused with normal marines by other players since I forgo the spikey chaosy thing and go for a much cleaner look. Played a game this weekend and my opponents were surprised when my chosen opened up on them. They were all painted with AL decals and everything but one person walking around still asked me how my ultramarines were doing. Guess I am doing Al right? Ordo Xenos Inquisitor
I would guess you can only tell an Alpha from an Ultra depends on the shade of blue? AL seems to go for the metallic blue kind. adreal
My basic chaos marines are a mish mash of all marine kits My elite chaos space marines are all mark 4 armour My headhunters are abit of a patch work for marks though I would like all mark 4, though mark 3 could be cool Most people say they look cool, then we play Edited June 19, 2017 by adreal Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335166-proxy-marines-as-alpha-legion-have-you-ever-done-this/#findComment-4789132 Share on other sites
Brother Aiwass
Would be nice to see such an army made of heterogeneous chapters! They are all Alpharius ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335166-proxy-marines-as-alpha-legion-have-you-ever-done-this/#findComment-4789164 Share on other sites
Ordo Xenos Inquisitor
I am thinking of how to work that out with my Deathwatch army. Basically have them all disguised as various Chapters, but the "CHOSEN" will either bear the Alpha Legion Pauldron plus Mk 8 or take on the Headhunter bits from Forge World. And thus, I will have a wide dual-purpose Alpha Legion/Deathwatch army. Librarian Kex
You could also field Dark Angels for your disguised marines, give some people a chuckle.Maybe field an Alpha Legion Chaos Lord in the robes for a centerpiece. See how long it takes for you to summon a Ravenwing, Deathwing, or even an Inquisition player.
