Ironic that we can absolutely crush any popularity poll (Eternal Crusade next faction, Twitter favorite successor, etc) yet get little to no attention or respect from our creators

That's the ironic thing about the Templars...

Guilliman despaired when he found out that he was a mere tool in the Emperor's grand design...

Cawl sought to improve upon us...

The entire galaxy wishes to consume us...

But Sigismund knew that there was nothing beyond duty...

Grimaldus knew that the only way to improve us was through hate...

And the dawn of a new era was ushered by none other than the Black Templars...

The true irony is that the Templars has become the one true light of humanity in the darkest of times... and grimdark won't be grimdark if there is light...

This is just another confirmation that the Eternal Crusade is not just a fictional undertaking; this is a real, tangible and entertaining zealous mindset.

Show me this much positive, affirmative zeal in any other player base in any other game, I dare you.

What about the Space Wolves or Traitor Marines?

...

Too soon? :P

I love how much ZEAL we show, I do feel for some chapters like Salamanders though, First Founding Legion and yet literally one special character, no unique units is pretty sad.

The still get fantastic stuff from Forgeworld though. Legion Fire Drakes, Predator Infernus, Pyroclasts, Bray'Arth Ash Mantle/awesome dreadnought chassis, and upgrade sets. I'd say our overly cheerful brethren in green are doing alright! Also Bray'Arth was 40k in 7th as well as Pellas Mir'San(EC equivalent) and Harath Shen(apothecary) from the Badab War Charchters and while I haven't seen the Forgeworld index yet I'd bet those guys are still there. Black Templars are simply the most proactive about sharing our pride, completely true to character of course!

Yea the Iron Hands are the founding chapter that don't get any love from GW. A few 30K FW models and a tiny upgrade kit that's it...

Salamanders like Red Lobsters (in my head) seem to be dedicated Forgeworld chapters. At least Sallas played a part in Armageddon though; Iron Hands not so lucky.

Black Templars must have sold really badly when the 4th end came out. Posterboys of 3rd end, then in 4th got their own codex, and then... Nothing.

But then loom how long the Inquisition had to wait for new stuff all the way back then. There were whole ARMIES neglected by GW. At least our parent codex is still relevant (pending 8th but then everyone is).

We don't need love, we have Hate and the pure logic of the Machine!

I would love Sword Brethren, Castellans, Marshalls and High Marshalls getting 8th edition datasheets but ultimately from what I've seen of this board it's not the GW/FW love that matters it's the ZEAL, HATRED AND CRUSADING SPIRIT!
