Sabadin
The galaxy is torn asunder, mankind is beset on all sides. In the frozen wastes of a forgotten sphere in Ultramar, a remnant of a forgotten behemoth stirs.....+feed+ it's connection to the Hive Mind restored, it quickly assimilates centuries of accumulated knowledge. The time for slumber is over, the time to hunt begins. This will be an ongoing army log and plog. Uprising
What a great and unique scheme. Would you like constrictive criticism? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335248-hive-fleet-gargamel/#findComment-4791275 Share on other sites
Sabadin
Finally found some time to resume work on the venomthropes, they're close to finished. Feedback is always welcomed and appreciated even though I don't plan take this army to the same standards as my marines( there's just to much to do lol). This paint scheme came about as the bulk of it is washes and drybrushing while still coming out decent. And a close up of the carapace to show that under direct light the black isn't quite as basic as it first looks. Sabadin
Is it called "Gargamel" because they are going after Ultramar? Combination of being a previously dormant splinter of Behemoth and the bright blue colour scheme. Those sacs on the backs looks disgustingly organic. Thank you. It's just Emperor's Children with a wash of fuegan orange then some nurgle's rot and nikilah oxide to taste. I love the blue on the flesh, how did you get the ribcages' bone effect? Sabadin
Getting more of the backlog done, venomthropes are finished, some old tyrant guard almost done, and good progress on a Trygon Prime. Sabadin
Got the guards finished, Trygon is almost done, Just a few last details and the base to go, then it's on to this guy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335248-hive-fleet-gargamel/#findComment-4847481 Share on other sites
Sabadin
Trygon is now done outside of adding some valhallan blizzard. Work on the Exocrine is coming along well, then on to about 30 hormagaunts. Sabadin
Need to do some restock before I can move on to the gun to finish the Exocrine. Have 10 hormagaunts done, 10 more are next up on the paint station. The gaunts are intentionally dark to mirror worker ants to signify their expendable status in the swarm. Sabadin
Things have been a little hectic so progress has been slow. Just a bit more basing work and the lash whip, then they're ready to join the hive. Sabadin
Family shot from armies on parade today. Seeing them all on the board made me regret how long I let them wallow in the grey of shame, and re-energized me to finish the rest of the fleet. Sabadin
Stealers managed to hit the paint table finally, happy with how they turned out given the plan was quick and simple. On to broodlord now, he'll probably take longer than the 10 stealers as he's getting some TLC though. Bukimimaru
Looks great man.I'm in the same boat, I have a substantial army thats sat on the shelf, unpainted for so long. Now I've started painting them I'm really loving it. Have you managed to play any games with the new codex yet? Sabadin
I have not unfortunately, finding free time during gaming hours has been slim lately, looking forward to when I do get a chance as this looks to be the most fun this army has been in a long time. Sabadin
And over 2 months later the Broodlord is finished lol. Next up will be the old metal Broodlord, should be much faster though as they won't be taken to this level. deathspectersgt7 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335248-hive-fleet-gargamel/#findComment-4996722 Share on other sites
Sabadin
Making progress on the next Broodlord, will be basically tabletop standard. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335248-hive-fleet-gargamel/#findComment-5001395 Share on other sites
Sabadin
And they're done outside of basing, And the evolution of the Broodlord I'll be taking a break from painting nids until weather permits more priming, for now it's a return to the PA side of the board. deathspectersgt7 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335248-hive-fleet-gargamel/#findComment-5008279 Share on other sites
