Harleqvin
Does anyone know if the dreadnought drop pod was put into the Imperial Armor: Space Marine? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335273-dreadnought-drop-pod-in-imperial-armor/ Share on other sites
Jolemai
There is a Dreadnought Drop Pod listed on the contents page of the relevant book. It's basically a weaponless Drop Pod that can carry Dreadnoughts for an increased points' cost. Nothing fancy. Charlo
Yep! Will set you back 24 melta bombs to transport any dreadnought as per the normal 8th Ed Drop Pod Assault Rules. No extra stuff like the burning retros from 30k or any weapons of any kind either! Tyberos the Red Wake
Do you guys think it will be common for people to proxy the regular Drop Pod for the Dreadnought one in 8E? Or will we be seeing a lot of walking Dreadnoughts (or possibly not even seeing Dreadnoughts at all despite their new improved rules)? Firepower
I spent over 100 hours building and painting three pods. No way in hell I'm making two more because of something so pointless as having the "right" one for my Ironclads because of a new edition. So, yes, proxy ;) But for that new price and the jacked up price of the dreads themselves it somehow seems more sensible to take a Raven transport for 1 than 2 in 2 pods that contribute no damage of their own. Race Bannon
What did people do before 8th edition? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335273-dreadnought-drop-pod-in-imperial-armor/#findComment-4792115 Share on other sites
Firepower
2 standard cheap Drop Pods with Ironclads, a third with dealer's choice squad so you could deploy the two dreads at once, wreak havoc to let the stabby stabbies get up the board. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335273-dreadnought-drop-pod-in-imperial-armor/#findComment-4792165 Share on other sites
Claws and Effect
Meh. Not going to bother. I only have a single Contemptor and a Stormraven to carry it. Highly doubt I'll have any more dreads than that (doesn't seem thematic for Raven Guard).
