Dal'yth color scheme/sept markings?

Hey fellow blueberries :D

 

I'm trying to figure out a sept to stick with and build fluff around - my color scheme indicates Dal'yth but it's confusing. In DoW, their scheme is like purple and green, but Shas'o R'alai and the new Dal'yth sept markings are a grey blue:

I understand the whole sept is the markings things, not the color of the armor, but it's sort of weird in this case. I'd like to add sept markings, but it's sort of hard to add them when the armor and sept color are the same :P

 

Should I stick with Dal'yth? Or should I do a different one and rename my R'alai?

 

Also, what sept markings do you guys think would go best with this armor color?

If you like the look and lore of dal'yth I'd stick with them. I think the sept markings are purple for them, with their armour being green, and maybe R'lai is a grey blue just to differentiate him as a commander?

Armor color tends to be "camo light". You can keep your current models paint job and add the sept color in a more discreet manner. In my case I used the sept color on the Tau symbol.

So funny thing - in FW's Xenos book, it states that R'alai is part of the Kel'shan sept...I thought his fluff said he was from Dal'yth?

Lexicanum only mentions Kel'shan, for what that's worth.
