This is the first post in what I hope will lead into my first chapter. I have plans for some conversions, using various stormcast models to represent Primaris versions of regular marine units.

For this reason, the rules I will be using are the Blood Angels, giving me access to Sanguinary Guard, and fancy ab armor.

So, the majority of the Chapter will be Primaris, and I plan to use the Stormcast to represent specialist marine units as Primaris upgraded ones.

Assault Terminators: Stormcast Liberators

Sanguinary Guard: Prosecutors or Vanguard-Hunters with Jump Packs

Sanguinary Priest: Narthecium and various bits on a Primaris LT

Assault Marines: Vanguard-Hunters with Jump Packs

The Chapter Scheme will something like this, possibly replace the blue with green, I'm not sure yet. I plan to pick up some leadbelcher today, and start priming and assembling my Primaris from the starter set.

Yeah, I plan for them to have defended Baal during the Tyranid invasion. They lost all but 80 or so marines during the fight. The chapter master is the last remaining dreadnought, they came when the Blood Angels called to defend Baal and almost paid the ultimate price. They were reinforced by the Primaris brought by Guilliman, gladly accepting them to save the Chapter. Edited by HCMistborn

That might prove an interesting character study as the last regular astartes die off, leaving the fate of the Chapter to their primaris brothers. What would they feel? How do they deal with the possibility that their ilk will be 'extinct' within their own Chapter soon? Where do they turn if they seek consolation, if they need it?

By the time we catch up to the time line in Dark Imperium, there is a good chance that very few Astartes would remain after 110 years of war. It's the goal of the remaining astartes and the interned Chapter Master to keep the culture of the Chapter alive in these Primaris.

Steam hissed and pistons whined as the mighty chassis rose, it's mighty height towering above even the mass of muscle and ceramite of the 3rd Company Captain, one of the new gene-brothers to the Knights, a Primaris. The Chapter Master rarely found solace in these days, his sleep constantly interrupted by the war time duties of leading the Adeptus Astartes. Pain flooded his remaining nerve endings as his brain slowly awoke his artifical limbs.

His vox clicked before he spoke, he sensors showing him the silver armored Captain. "What is it, Brother Captain Alessio? What urgent matter requires you to awaken me into service again?"

Ten years, a decade it had been since he last woke, yet it felt only a moment. He stomped forward, his heavy armored form turning towards the assembled Brothers in the dimly lit bay of the Machine Bay. The youthful face of Captain Alessio remained even before the blunt address.

"We awake you as we engage the arch-enemy, our arch-enemy, at Excillio V, and matter require your guidance, Chapter Master." Alessio spoke softly, almost a whisper to the interned astartes, "The Infernal Sons raid this world for it's vast library, seeking to deny knowledge to the Lord-Commander, and our great foe, Zetereck, leads these foul traitors."

Rage flooded Voltiels senses, smothering his agony and bringing his mind to focus, the mere mention of that heretical betrayer made his assault cannon swirl with anticipation. When the Knights homeworld had fallen, that traitor had twisted and lied his way into a place of respect with the Knights. He helped them rebuild as a fleet, to crusade against the enemies of man, and had brought him his true loyal brothers. Only 30 astartes had survived the death of Valhellei, and now Voltiel spent his every waking moment teaching his Primaris brothers of the Chapters culture, fighting to save the Chapter in spirit as well as reality, or seeking out their hated foes.

The Captains silver armor gleamed, and the tower stood resilient against his ocean blue pauldron, as the Chapter did against the forces of the Tyranids. He wore the customary honour dagger, and several elshrew tales on his belt. The Chapter would live on in these new sons of the Gene-Sire, even if he had once doubted them.

**** Thirty Years Earlier ****

Voltiel flexed his gauntleted hand, the bionic reacted better when fitted in his Terminator armor, and he had little time to adjust to it before he must deploy again, the Sons of Sanguinius required his help, and the Knights were the first to help their esteemed Brothers when called. They stood with only 110 Brothers left, and their homeworld in smoldering ruins, but if they must fall in defense of the citizens of Baal, so be it. The Thunderhawk screamed, smoke spewing from it's mighty thrusters as it shot through low orbit towards Baal's front lines. The last remaining Battle-Barge was ordered to retreat and attempt to save the Chapters history and relics. All relics beyond the pulsing energy blade carried by the acting Chapter Master himself, and Voltiels mighty terminator armor.

*Wrote this on my phone while watching a bay door, my work is being remodeled and I was voluntold to watch the door for 9 hours*
