Rune Priest Jbickb
So according to some old fluff, our armories have a few of these bad boy kicking around. And with the new army building rules we can once again take them. Anyone planning on dragging these relics out of retirement? Jarl of Wulfen
I didn't have one before, but I may get one now. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335365-lean-russ-exterminators/#findComment-4792063 Share on other sites
Guest Drekkan
I have fond memories of using mine against orks and nids in the 3rd and 4th editions. Basically it was just a bs 4 LR exterminator. I'm affraid it will be now outclassed by a pair of predators destructor. Rune Priest Jbickb
Oh it definitely does get outclassed by the destructor but the destructor lacks the nostalgia. And the Russ is a bit more durable Wolf_Lord_Hardrada 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335365-lean-russ-exterminators/#findComment-4792112 Share on other sites
Valerian
I gave mine to my IG playing buddy well over a decade ago. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335365-lean-russ-exterminators/#findComment-4792232 Share on other sites
Wolf_Lord_Hardrada
I do have a Russ sitting around gathering dust, it will need its turret changing out but....if I just buy another one then I can run an exterminator and a plasma...right? If only we could put our doom-frost-cannons or whatever they are called onto Russ'. Bloody Legionnaire
Wasn't the only reason we were given access to the LR Exterminator was because it was less powerful than the other variants? We could very well take any variant of the LR now.. How do the other variants stack up against the Destructor? Karhedron
I have one tucked away in SW livery that I may well dust off for old time's sake. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335365-lean-russ-exterminators/#findComment-4792882 Share on other sites
PeteySödes
I turned mine into a terrain piece ages ago. Interesting idea though. How are you fitting them in though, Aux Support Detachment? I was under the impression each detachment had to match faction/chapter/etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335365-lean-russ-exterminators/#findComment-4793209 Share on other sites

I was under the impression each detachment had to match faction/chapter/etc. They have the Imperium keyword, so they can go right into pretty much any Detachment with your Space Wolves. No need to use the Aux Support Detachment. hammer grimblood
That's right. For now just build an Imperium detachment and you can include Russes in your heavy support slots along with "Aettguard" in your troops slots if you wish. I've already got an Inquisitor, a Chimera and my Deathwatch. It would be nothing for me to "accidentally" pick up a Start Collecting box of Guard to round out my Imperium army :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335365-lean-russ-exterminators/#findComment-4794585 Share on other sites
Kuro_Ryu
My dreams have finally come true. I bought a russ and the fw turret back in the day, had maybe 2 games with it and the 5th codex came out. At which point I started using it with my orks as a looted tank. The time has come for my wolves to un-loot that tank =) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335365-lean-russ-exterminators/#findComment-4794783 Share on other sites
