This is for those who love their bikes.

 

With the loss of relentless for attack bikes are they still viable in an army?

 

I usually use attack bikes in my army rather than centurions because I like the idea of a more mobile platform that is not a speeder.

Relentless is largely refundant now anyway. Before it let you shoot normally after moving, now moving just gives you a -1 penalty to hit.

 

Much less onerous penalty.

I think i'll stick to Heavy Bolters, the volume of fire should compensate the -1 to hit.

... this only works if you expect to play against MEQ armies or low wound count armies.  It always depends on who you play against.

 

the previous link (see above) states attack bikes are useful in squads to help soak up the wounds for the unit.

 

I should better re-state the question ... as How the effective an attack bike squad in 8th edition?
