Here is my WIP for my chapter the Knights of the Tower. This is my third model ever painted, so C&C is welcome, and this is just the first layers on here, I need to clean it up and add shading. There's something ironic about the scheme in that it's very similar to the once-loyal Astral Claws Chapter. I was wondering how metallic Primaris would look, and I have to say, I'm digging it. I was inspired by the Astral Knights, Iron Snakes, and the Knights Radiant from the Stormlight Archives book series. I really love how the scheme turned out, and my local GW manager advised that I use Ironbreaker instead of Leadbelcher, and now I am super glad that I did! General Strike Posted June 24, 2017 Author Share Posted June 24, 2017 (edited) I'm thinking that the Sgts will have a blue vox grill, veterans will have gold vox grills, and the Lt will have a full blue helmet with gold stripe on the middle. I plan to convert my second gravis captain into a librarian in tda, hopefully the primaris get libbys so I can have a gravis libby. Due to near constant storming today, I didn't get any primining in. I plan to just spray prime all my primaris on the sprue tomorrow, and just use my pot of imperial primer to touch up the mold missed spots, so I can get priming out of the way. I also painted up my first squad of Inceptors. General Strike Posted July 7, 2017 Author Share Posted July 7, 2017 I have these colors for different markings: Blue face mask: Sgt Gold Stripe w/ Blue face mask: Vet Sgt Red Stripe: Heavy Weapons Squad Gold Face Mask and Gold Stripe: Captain Gold Stripe: Lt I think I want to paint the Captains cloak red on the outside, just do heavy washing to make it darker on the inside, and do the little fancy bits in gold. I think I want black lenses on my guys. I don't know what color to do the Inceptor Stripe, I was thinking green, but I might skip it since it isn't as visible. Maybe I will make my Intercessors have a Blue or Green stripe or something, and keep the Inceptors without them. I'm going to paint the sword in runefang and then edge it with a ice blue. General Strike Posted July 9, 2017 Author Share Posted July 9, 2017 Had my first game of 8th today, used my primaris against another new players imperial guard. My list was: Captain in Gravis Primaris LT 2x Intercessors Contemptor Dread with Multi Melta 1x Inceptor 1x Hellblasters His list was Yarrick Tank Commander in russ with Battle Cannon, Lascannon, Heavy Bolter sponsons 3x 10 man Squads with Lascannon Heavy Weapons team and plasma guns Manticore Vendetta Culexis Assassin He won very easily, seizing the initiative and wiping my 2 intercessor squads in his first turn. His tank shot my first squad to one guy, and the second was ripped apart by the vendetta. He deep striked his assassin behind me, then made the charge. I took three wounds off the assassin in combat and he killed one hellblaster. Then my turn came, I brought my inceptors in, shot his infantry, killing three models, used there hammer of wrath esque rule killing the lascannon. The terrain made it hard to get my dread to his tanks, so I shot up his vendetta taking off five wounds. Then I fought and wiffed with my hellblasters, and he murdered them in return. I forgot that the Inceptors could fall back and shoot, and really didnt use them smart. But really, losing half my army in the first turn and having only my Hellblasters and Dread to fight armor. He used the manticore to kill my dread in one turn, with the help of a lucky guardsman lasgun to take the last wound. I really had some bad, bad, bad rolls, failing about 75-80% of my rolls of every kind. But on top of that, the primaris need transports and anti-horde and anti-tank. Which we will hopefully get soon. I also wiffed a lot, but I think I didn't have the tools to kill his armor or the mas of bodies. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
