Commisarp
So; I have the Astra Militarum FW index book in hand (via tablet) now.Bad news for sisters players.First, the Arvus Lighter is Astra Militarum infantry only. (So it's totally pointless)Secondly, the Avenger Strike Fighter has the keywords "Imperium, Astra Militarum, Aeronautica Imperialis" so yeah, you can take it in your sisters army but only in the way you could take a Knight or a Leman Russ or a squad of space marines.I would give this book a miss if you are a sisters purist. We get nothing.
Daimhin
I thought that would be the case, but it's a shame. Beams 1 Back to top
Imren
Does it matter at all that the Arvus IG only? What value did that model bring at all to the table to justify it costs? Must be the absolutely least used model in 40k at all, cost a fortune at forgeworld, cost points and have no armaments. The avenger strike fighter belongs to the imp navy fluffwise, to having those keywords doesn't really change anything from last edition and also make sense although it has been in the sisters codex. You could always paint it as per the rest of your sisters army with their iconography and make it look part of sisters.
A.T.
Does it matter at all that the Arvus IG only? Well it's a bit of a shame for me personally as I have two of them :p
Atrus
Well at least the Avengers there. What are its stats like?
taikishi
165 points for two lascannons, the defensive heavy stubber (which is still worthless -- 8" range, but +1 to hit flyers), and the avenger bolt cannon. Bolt cannon is heavy 8 S6, -2, 1 damage, 36" range. Can buy two missile launchers, two multi-lasers, two autocannons, tactical bombs, two hellstrike missiles or two hellfury missiles. BS 3+, T7, 14W, 3+ save and all the usual rules for supersonic flyers (supersonic, hard to hit, crash and burn, airborne). Tactical bombs are a once per game fire at a unit you moved over this turn; roll a D6 for every model in the unit (or 2D6 for each vehicle or monster in the unit) up to 10D6. For each 5 or 6 you roll, the unit suffers a mortal wound. Hellstrike missiles always roll 2d6, discard the lowest for damage. Hellfury missiles are Heavy 2d6. Montford
IMHO, Sisters do not need flyers in 8th. However I understand some folks like 'em.
Atrus
Ive got my nephilim fighter that i soent money on and took time to slap some sister stuff on it, so id like to see some use come of it. That defensive stubber is hilarious! Its a lot tougher than i thoufht itd be. It was so fragile last edition with 2hp. Huzzah for 14w. Like those bombs! Theres some nice anti-horde...wait, is that d6 shots per model with 5s and 6s causing a mortal wound? Or d6 per model with on 5+ being of any use? taikishi
Roll 1d6 for each model in the target unit, or 2d6 if the model is a monster or vehicle. Max 10d6. For each 5 or 6 you roll, you cause a mortal wound.

deffnob
For the first time in a long while, Sisters don't really need Flyers. Really, no one does these days. They'll get a sweet flying church when they get a proper release. I don't play em' anymore, but I keep tabs on the gulls.
Gen.Steiner
If you want air support, take a Vulture or two with twin Punisher Cannons and nose-mount heavy bolters. What's that? 43 shots? BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT Pretty much everything else is just for losers :P Ezr91aeL 1 Back to top
Imren
Hehe, or it's sister the vendetta, what's that? Six lascannons shots, zzzaap, landraider gone.... Ezr91aeL 1 Back to top
Gen.Steiner
I wonder what the maths is on the Punisher Cannon-nose HB combo. 43 shots at Strength 5 against a Land Raider? Anyone care to work it out?21.5 hits straight up, anyway, all wounding on ... 5+? That's... 7.2 wounds I think. Yeah, not great at anti-tank, buuuut...21.5 hits on (say) a Spess Mahreen unit, wounding on 3+, that's (I think) 14.2 wounds, with a 5+ save (I think), so: 9.5 unsaved wounds.Yeah.The Punisher Vulture will kill a MEQ unit a turn (assuming my maths is right). Not a bad shout for air support I reckon.
ERJAK
Hehe, or it's sister the vendetta, what's that? Six lascannons shots, zzzaap, landraider gone.... 6 lascannons don't kill a landraider even at BS 2 and rend -5. You'd need 3 vendetta's to goof it in 1 turn at BS3.
