Bloody Legionnaire
How well do you guys think Blood Claws on foot rolling with a priest Wulfen for buffs would work out? I was thinking about Including it in my reworked 8th edition list plans. Bulwyf
I was already thinking of doing something like that. Ulrik plus Wulfen and BC and Bjorn as well. My only concern is trying to keep them all within range for the buffs to overlap. Bloody Legionnaire
I was considering using it in conjunction with my Drop Pods. Since I can no longer have a true Drop Pod list and need so many units to start on the board anyway I think it's worth a shot... They may not be targeted too badly if I have a bunch of nastiness in my opponents face or backfield. The BC almost start to become ablative wounds though I think. Ulrik will be busy healing Bjorn and Wulfen.. However if they all end up making it into CC it'll be painful for whoever is on the receiving end. Bulwyf
What size list are you thinking of running? If you have enough transports to keep them from getting shot to pieces you could load enough Wulfen/Ulrc/BC in say two transports with Bjorn slugging it out besides them to keep them together. Hear da Lamentation
Can the wolf priest heal Bjorn? I don't know why but I assumed they wouldn't be able to heal dreads Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335672-footslogging-blood-claws-priest-wulfen/#findComment-4798725 Share on other sites

Infantry, bikes and cavalry only. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335672-footslogging-blood-claws-priest-wulfen/#findComment-4799086 Share on other sites

That is a lot of potential attacks and the transport stops the Wulfen from being early victims of shooting. Bulwyf
Thanks. You can also position the BC to protect Bjorn and Ulric as character can't be targeted by non scouts under 8th unless they are the closest model(s). I don't have transports other than Drop Pods. Bulwyf
You will probably hear this advise from others but at least two rhinos and a land raider crusader for transport is a good investment. They're just not how I run my Wolves. My army is all of the Blackmanesand I currently build my lists more for fluff. I used to have a couple of Land Raiders and Rhinos and dedicated them to other armies. Possibly Assault Cannon Razorbacks in place of the Rhinos but yeah, Transports are good in 8th edition. PeteySödes
I tried a 15 man BC unit on foot escorted by Bjorn and a Primaris Lt. and it was great. It made for a really great combo and it was really only a broodlord that threatened them in a meaningful way. Knowing when to fall back and light it up is super important, even though it felt weird to back off with bloodclaws. I expect they'll be in many of my lists. How well do you think it would have worked with 2 units of Blood Claws being supported by Bjorn? Is the Primaris Lt. worth it over a WGBL in TDA? How well do you think it would have worked with 2 units of Blood Claws being supported by Bjorn? Is the Primaris Lt. worth it over a WGBL in TDA? Well for what ended up happening (getting jumped by the trigon) two units over the one would have afforded me more flamers which would have been nice but i think it'd have been a similar result and maybe more versatile as the game went on. As for Lt. over the Wolf guard it purely came down to points and curiosity, i really only grabbed him as a cheap aura hero to round out my battalion detachment and compliment Bjorn's aura. The MC auto bolt rifle was a pretty cool if confused weapon, being a volume of fire weapon with no AP but 2 damage, weird but he lit up a ravanor unit pretty well with it. He never really was in danger either so I'm not sure if in the role i had him TDA would have been worth it. If the BS got pounded though i expect a WGBL to be more of a threat on his own.
