GriffonI92
I have been using Tamiya Color X-20A Thinner to clean my airbrush but sadly I just ran out of my big bottle that I thought would last forever. Just curious is their a sort of home remedy solution I can use or just best bet to buy more? MikhalLeNoir
Airbrush cleaner from valejo. Or you could use thinned melerud, or americans have this green blablub. Just check if it attacks the rubber used in the airbrush to isolate things. Imren
If your airbrush have PTFA/teflon seals then regular acetone works fine (If your seals are not PTFA/teflon, acetone may dissolve them). some seals might swell after immersion for too long, but they come down to regular shape after a few hours of drying after your cleaning. so don't insert your needle for 5-6 hours after cleaning in acetone. micahwc
Windex seems to work. I've been using it for about two years without any problems. Some say the ammonia is bad for the seals, but I haven't had any problems so far. Bloody Legionnaire
Honestly I use water for the majority of my cleaning for my acrylics paints and if I end up with some really dried up crud in my paint cup I'll use Simple Green a cotton swab and a toothpick. For enamel and lacquer paints I use Lacquer thinner. jbaeza94
I have just purchased a sonic cleaner for 25 usd. i hear they do wonders for airbrushes with just just water and windex. i have a large one for my firearms, and its amazing how well they clean. if you want to try the tech route, give these a look on youtube. They also work for stripping models with purple power.
