If your airbrush have PTFA/teflon seals then regular acetone works fine (If your seals are not PTFA/teflon, acetone may dissolve them). some seals might swell after immersion for too long, but they come down to regular shape after a few hours of drying after your cleaning. so don't insert your needle for 5-6 hours after cleaning in acetone.

Honestly I use water for the majority of my cleaning for my acrylics paints and if I end up with some really dried up crud in my paint cup I'll use Simple Green a cotton swab and a toothpick. For enamel and lacquer paints I use Lacquer thinner.

I have just purchased a sonic cleaner for 25 usd. i hear they do wonders for airbrushes with just just water and windex. i have a large one for my firearms, and its amazing how well they clean. if you want to try the tech route, give these a look on youtube.

They also work for stripping models with purple power.
