major higgins
I Always loved Krieg rules and fluff, but I have no chindrend to sell in order to get enough money for GW, also I deeply love Scotland, so I love British militar history, so here I am now, after more than year of work...Caledonia is a green and blue world which has no real resources for the Imperium if not its men. The planet entered in the Imperium borders during the Crusade era. At that time the Iron Warriors were sent to conquer that world to the Imperium of man. The local militia, traditionally recruited from the varius clan in which the population were divided, were quickly subduded by the Space Marine Legion. They offer a simbolic resistance in the first days, than accepted their rejoiance with the growing Empire.Iron Warriors garrisoned the planet of Caledonia and started to use its militia as ausiliary troops. They trained the army of Caledonia in the art of siegecraft and trench war, both in assault and defense. When Iron Warriors turned against the Imperium, men of Caledonia had no doubt, they throw themselves against the garrison and at high cost overwelmed it. But Imperium is unfair and has long twisted memory. The alliagence with the enemy was always seen as a potential seed of sin and corruption. Caledonia risked the destruction, only a long hard epuration by the inquisition saved it. The price of this salvation is a lifetime of war for its population. Men are recruited at 16, receive two years of training and then are send in the war of the Imperium. 35 years of duty each, only if they survive they can return to their homeland. Women remain at home and have the duty to make baby, one after another with in vitro fecundation. All of them are mother, none are wife. The life in the Death Korps is not easy and a very few reach the finish line of their duty. Almost all of them die for the Emperor in some distant world, their last memory wasn't for their family, but at least for their blue mountain and the Highlands of their homeworld... Joe
Wow, I can't remember the last time I saw someone using Kromlech's Astra Militarum stuff. Neat! I feel like a mixture of Scions, Anvil Industries and Victoria would certainly lend themselves to the aesthetic you're going for.

Joe
That Russ conversion is clever, although it does look a little short.

DeathcompanyDante
These are amazing! Saw an army like this ages ago in GW Glasgow, was that yours? If you don't mind me asking how did you make your rough riders? Always liked the idea of a cavalry regiment that wasn't hun like and yours is pretty impressive. Really like the tanks as well, still clearly 40k but with a nice ww1 spin. Looks like my blood angels will be going on the back burner for a while! DeathcompanyDante
Ah that's cool! Personally I would happily swap the weather if Italy for the weather in Scotland but I suppose the grass is always greener ThatOneMarshal 1 Back to top
Harrowmaster
How big are the Kromlech mortars compared to the max mini siege guns?
major higgins
Mortars from cromlek are practically equal to FW. Max Mini are larger as gun, but tall as the mortar. Anyway not big as a medusa carriage. But nothing forbid to proxy it, if you group have nothing to complain
Harrowmaster
Thanks, I was looking at using one or the other as a medusa carriage for 30k and was unsure of the size.
Are Verlo
I love the background story and the whole themed army. What did you use for the basilisks? They look great
The Pounder
Major Higgins! Your army is fantastic. You really get a sense of the British empire at war. My personal favourite is the MkI themed Leman Russes they look straight out of the battle of Cambrai! Is this ongoing? Or have you finished with them? I think that is not possible to get a real end... I'm thinking to drop a Russ to put other team of HW... and need to convert some mole launchers
