Emperor's Furor
So I just did a test model and it's Balor Brown with Sepia wash followed by a layer of Zamesi Desert and I really like it, I can't take a picture of it but it reminds me of the Lamenters scheme, a sort of understated ochre yellow. However I'm hesitant to do the Lamenters so I was wondering what other chapters do you think the scheme would suit? Imren
surely you're aware of imp fists, other than that, I suggest you can make up a chapter, invent some fluff and colour scheme (what I did with my 40k iron cobras, khaki/sand colour scheme with a teal cobra chapter logo, looks good on the battle field). If you invent your own chapter, keep the chapter logo very simple. because you will have to freehand it like hundred times over on vehicles and shoulder pads (what I did with my cobra logo) unless you have it printed on decal sheet. Think it as a international road sign, easy to see from distance, simple shapes and (one colour preferably) colours like BA, UM, DA and wolves and mine are. As an example, Lamenters have a horrible chapter logo, imagine the hours to freehand that checkers pattern and heart on 50 shoulder pads. Good luck, cheers Emperor's Furor 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335839-yellow-chapters/#findComment-4802158 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
There is a UM successors that is also yellow (Libators), as well as the possible Dark Angels Successor that is yellow (Angels of Vigilance). You also have the Crimson Guard (1/2 red, 1/2 yellow), Doom Warriors, Flame Eagles, Lion Warriors, Marines Malevolent, Skull Bearers, and the Storm Giants (pale yellow). Hope that helps! Emperor's Furor
They are more of a traditional yellow, the yellow I've got from Zamesi Desert and Balor Brown is more muted, kind of like this. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/0/0b/LamentersMarineGW.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335839-yellow-chapters/#findComment-4802181 Share on other sites

Emperor's Furor
Thanks for the suggestions they are great. I just realised the colour looks to much like the default Tau colour, basically looked like Tau marines lol. Kua
They are more of a traditional yellow, the yellow I've got from Zamesi Desert and Balor Brown is more muted, kind of like this. [pic] Nothing wrong with this being seen as yellow. I’d go with the fluff and choose one of the listed yellow chapters instead of doing lamenter (while not liking them) because of a slightly different tone. Winds Of Fury
Depending on how you look at things, Howling Griffons are yellow... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335839-yellow-chapters/#findComment-4802311 Share on other sites
DBadger
Am I alone in thinking the Deathwing would look good in this colour? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335839-yellow-chapters/#findComment-4802351 Share on other sites
Claws and Effect
Aren't the Solar Hawks yellow as well? Except for the right arm I mean. Or if you're not trying to take it seriously there is always the Angry Marines.
