Clymer
Hey all, I've been tinkering with Pedro Cantor a little bit and to say that he is much improved in 8th edition is an understatement. He is downright beastly. I'm wondering your thoughts though on how to maximize his abilities to grant re-rolls and extra attacks. So far I have tried to keep him deployed back with devastators which is great, except that the devastators get wailed on from range. I also put him in a Stormraven with a command squad and Ironclad dred, which worked amazing except that instead of fighting and using their abilities, they were in a transport for half the game and were super expensive. So, I'm still not sure I'm maximizing his abilities. Was thinking about deploying him in a drop pod with veterans, but then he's out there and vulnerable and drop pods are still expensive. I also thought about going the land-raider option, but it just seems to easy to tie up transports and keep him from where he needs to go, and again, too expensive. Any thoughts? Any successes you've had? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335859-how-to-build-around-pedro-cantor/ Share on other sites
mathaius
You could try placing him in a rhino with 5 plasmavets, rhinos have become more durable than before and you can assault out of it. I think he's a good gunline buff, just mass your Devs/Centurions/Predators within 6" of him and let rip with the heavies. If something threatens your gunline you can take some Honour Guard to act as counter charge element, they can LoS! Pedro while getting buffed by the +1A aura. d36williams
I read one article about building an army based around 40 or so Terminators, mostly the Powerfist type. With so few models, it is easy to fit the whole army within Pedro's +1A bubble. This kind of army would mostly start teleporting into the middle of the field, and deploying behind that point. The army coalesces in the middle and from there reaches out to destroy their enemies.
