Jackalwolf
I just sold this army for around 2.5x MRSP and it includes a :cussload of conversions, unique characters and really good paintjobs: [snip] I'm sorry to say, mate, our definitions definitely vary. While it's a cool army that I'd love to play against, it's what qualifies as "nice, clean tabletop". Unless photos are too blurry for me to see, I can't find any advanced techniques there beyond main color airbrushed and some edge highlights. The metallics are not only true metallics (I prefer those over the more advanced NMM, personally), but also pretty flat in most major places (the bike engines yearn for at least a wash if not layering), the models are not based at all (black plastic and primer over some resin terrain). Leaf, our studio doll faceup painter, has taken a dip into painting Space Marines, starting off with Voldus. She has found this to be very relaxing and wanted another detailed power armour to paint, so we gave her Guilliman! This is more or less TT+ - simple, but with layering, freehands, etc: http://i.imgur.com/LInnG17.jpg http://i.imgur.com/M11qjCc.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qpnF8vL.jpg Honestly your studio's more or less TT+ is quite behind this models from the army I posted. The golds have 5 different tones, the purple is 3 highlights, one counter highlight and a line highlight, white is blended from bone to white, but as you say, images speak more than words. And your images are studio pictures whilst this one is a crappy iPhone camera shot. In any case, if you consider this TT+ sure, you should sell around 2.5x to 3.5x, but most studios (frontline gaming and awaken realms) consider Tabletop color blocking and washing (with the occasional edge highlighting) and TT+ what your studio grey knight Voldus is. And agreed, anything beyond this should command quite a high price which is not easy to specify in simple multipliers. But when non-studio professional sell miniatures, you'll see that TT and TT+ adjust much better to Frontline Gaming and Awaken Realms definitions than yours. Kastor Krieg
As I said, mate, the photos of your EC army are blurry and don't seem to convey the tonal range and detail. My photo is crappy as well :)And Awaken Realms are a different realm, pardon my pun, they mass produce with a lot of cheap airbrushing tricks and a truckload of painters on site. It's a different beast, really and they don't bother with selling on ebay or elsewhere. Brother Casman
We're drifting off topic here, gents. Stop the posturing over what TT+, and pro-painted, and whatever else even mean. =][= Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335911-advise-on-selling/page/2/#findComment-4817812 Share on other sites
Jackalwolf
· Hidden by Brother Casman, July 13, 2017 - Off topic Hidden by Brother Casman, July 13, 2017 - Off topic Fair, but don't be so quick to dismiss the loving work others have made. And yes, your study standard is way above theirs. As to the original point, it just was demonstrated how important is syntactics and good pictures. Take great pictures since as you see it's hard to agree what's TT, TT+, display, GD level, etc. Investing in a lil lightbox might be a good idea? you can get one in amazon for 15 quid and you might end getting significant more money if you've done a cracking painting job. sal of manders
I'll just add that my 'go to' for unloading stuff has been bartertown.com; although you might not have as big a sale audience as places like Ebay.
