Vayashi
In games where you take small squads with paladins, is it better to take 6 in one unit, or two 3-man units for the two Paragons with hammers? The idea is still to run both units within 6" of the Grandmaster. LuisMars
If you don't deepstrike them the only problem is that you have to roll twice for the charge. Seizeman
It's better to take them in a single unit. Firstly, Paladins are an aggressive tanking unit, and they work worse if separated. In units of 3, the opponent can charge them separately and they are not durable or dangerous enough in that case. Secondly, buffs are more effective on a big unit. Paladins are one of the few units in the army that can afford to take hammerhand instead of Gate of infinity. They have Draigo close by so he can GoI them, and they can hammerhand Draigo if he wants to crush a heavy target, and are themselves the best unit to receive the buff because of their number of attacks. In the same way, some times you will want to gate them elsewhere, and if they are split you will be able to teleport only half of them. Also, you will oftentimes want to deploy Draigo next to your main force so they benefit from his aura, and you want to include as many units as possible in its range. This is easier to do if you have a single unit compared with two small ones. Lastly, it is one less deployment to determine who goes first, which can be a pretty big deal. Having an extra paragon is nice, but not worth the trouble.
