Excellent work, as always. The servitors are beyond cool. What models are the conversions based on? Also, the Stormtalon looks neat. You did something to the nose gun/landing gear, didn't you? It appears to look sleeker than the original. Or maybe it's just the angle of the photos. Either way, your flyer looks surprisingly cool - surprisingly not due to to your skills, but rather my lack of appreciation of the model. I can't get over it that GW released Stormhawks before managed to complete my two Stormtalons; I'd prefer to have two Hawks instead (for looks, of course - I'm not a fan of the concept of a SM dedicated dogfighter; a helicopter-type air support unit is a different story).

Thank you! The servitors are a combination of AoS battle wizards, heads from skitarii Rangers, and various Stormcast bits (the reliquary and bird). I didn’t do anything to the stormtalon nose that I can think of (although I did four a bunch of purity seals and parchment to the nose to cover up a mistake I made in assembly) so it’s likely just the angle. I like the look of the stormhawk too but I’ve always liked gunships, and I feel like the highly mobile firepower a gunship brings is more in line with the elite forces of the space marines than tanks and other more limited vehicles.

Great selection of bits; I couldn't recognise the witches, though. I suppose that geting lobotomised and transformed into servitors is the second best career path for a "wizard", right after being burned or something. Once again, great stuff!

And I agree on the Talons' function. I just regret that GW messed them up so badly now. The designers should really get their act together and notice that a Talon is more expensive than a Hawk but does not bring more utility with the latter being more durable and having more weapons.

There's really no better use for filthy witches. On another note I need to update my army pics. I've gone back and touched up a few things, added skitarii heads to my scouts, and given five of my sword brethren jump packs I had lying around.

Well said.

I've added jump packs to my veterans, sufficiently Templary storm shields, and a jump captain to round out my assault elements. In the games I've played I've had great success with jump pack vets with thunder hammers and storm shields so they'll definitely take a central place in future lists, supported by the new jump captain. I don't have time to pictures right now but should put them up later this week. Hopefully I can get a better setup for the pictures and redo my whole army to show off the skitarii heads on my neophytes as well.

I've been meaning to put these up for awhile. I added jump packs to my melee vets, got an imperial knight to act as my crusade's Green Knight, put helmets on my scouts, and made a jump captain and chaplain to accompany my vets. The jump marshal carries a relic blade but I use it as a counts as thunder hammer.

With our new detachment I've magnetized the jump packs on my vets so I can swap them with regular power packs. I've also added some new vets so I have fifteen in all. One of these days I plan to go through my whole army and get news pics for everyone since I've changed quite a few things but that'll have to wait for now. In the meantime the time has come to add some more firepower to my army, anybody have any good recommendations? A friend of mine uses a knight army and I'd like some ways to punch holes in them before my hammer vets and hammernators get up close and personal. I'm thinking of a contemptor mortis dreadnought but if there's anyway to avoid forgeworld and get solid firepower I'm all ears.

I found a cheap Contemptor on miniswap and caved for the forgeworod guns. So I guess I took your advice haha. I’m not a fan of classic dreadnoughts but I love the Contemptor model and I’m hoping to one day get a second one to counter my friend’s knights.

So a brief update. I got to use the new specialist detachment against my friend’s knights awhile back and it did some serious work. A squad with three thunder hammers, Helbrecht, and the stratagem managed to annihilate a knight and help my jump captain take out another. Meanwhile my Contemptor Mortis put in some serious work. It helped take out an armiger and put several wounds on the big knights while surviving return fire for most of the game. I definitely want to add another one now, and will probably rely on several lascannon Contemptors as my primary source of anti armor.

Kill Team 1

Kill Team 2

I haven't painted much for my Templars recently and instead have focused on building several new kill teams to just to try something different. That said I felt I should put up pics of my current Black Templar kill team. With Elites they finally have the close combat punch I've always wanted and so far I've won a good chunk of my games with them since Elites came out. Even the games I lost I managed to do considerable damage to my opponent so it was all fun. I've really only played kill team this summer but now that we have a new codex coming out I may just have to break out my army and find time for a full game in the coming weeks.

Yeah I just use my phone camera. I should probably consider something better but I'm cheap. Best to save that money for more models.

I feel you. I have to aknowledge the fact that my phones camera is crap but I dont want to buy a good camera for Photographing a bunch of models every three weeks

Well it’s been a while but I plan on adding new pictures soon. I finally caved and joined the primaris craze with the release of Indomitus and I am in the process of properly Templarifying them. I should have an update tomorrow.

Nice - but are the images REALLY tiny for anyone else (and don't get any bigger when viewed in gallery)?

I've begun Templarifying the Indomitus marines. I split two boxes with a friend so I have spare bits for the HQs and 'm not a huge fan of the Bladeguard Ancient so turned him into my own Chaplain.
