I have to say, I'm still really impressed with your version of Sly Marbo! :)

I also noted the jump in detail you've sculpted on Harker's face - I've not seen a step-by-step of your work on faces before, and I find it very interesting.

Cheers :)

I have found that sculpting a face shape, gouging out the eye sockets and (if necessary) making a hole for the mouth, makes a good foundation for sculpting the rest. I have sculpted faces in all sorts of different ways... but this way seems to be working for me at the moment so I'll go with it for now :)

my interpretation of that little video is that it's a single model

it said "Abhuman Bounty Hunter" not "Hunters"

kind of like the single Beastman Bounty Hunter they've made

I wouldn't get too excited, really

I disagree. The fact that a single Squat is in the process of release means more than just a single Squat being released. It is an acknowledgement that they exist, in the flesh and now that the clock has been broken... maybe when they can't keep the miniature on the shelf, it may lead to a gang and that would be enough for me :)

I'm happy just to get a single one myself :) (I have this project so I have plenty of Squats and they are all unique :) ).

I think maybe enough people have shown up with Squats, and asked questions,or even shown them what has been done (your work for instance) that they are considering at the very least a gang. There is also the fact that so much of the new GW,is drawing back to it's successful past. Space Hulk, Shadow Wars-Armageddon,and now Necromunda. I believe they are now finding their future in the past old games with some new mechanics, and new models and some new old factions, that were only hinted at in the past ,Admech, Imperial Knights and Custodes. Sisters is a little more of a problem, how do you satisfy older supporters, and newer aesthetics, while keeping the soul intact.

I agree with all that but... the sisters have already had new plastic miniatures (the new Celestine and her body-guard Seraphims) so they have already demonstrated that they have the models on the hard-drive... just need to flesh them out a bit :smile.:

Unfortunately I think the NecroSquat may be a singular entity.

Somewhere in the many pages of the HH and Necromunda Weekender thread someone said questions were put forward at the seminars about further Squat releases and the answer was always a firm no. Still, as you say Inso - they've acknowledged that they exist, which is a good start....

As a business, it's all about supplying demand. This miniature will likely be £18 (like the rest) so it isn't cheap. If it sells like hot-cakes (which I think it will) it would be an opportunity to get a few more sculpted so that more money can be made.

It's likely just going to be one or two... but what if it isn't?

I remain pessimistically optimistic :D

Agreed, I think it will fly off the shelves like hot cakes. A really good sales performance will open the door to more development of the line, but I think it will be limited to specialist game range.

A return of Squats to the 40k universe would have to compete with the release of 8th Ed Codexes, mini releases for said Codexes, development of the Primaris, the AoS rubbish, returning Primarchs, story advancement, the list goes on. How many years before GW brings in 9th Ed 40K? Four? Five years at the most? That's a small (and very busy) window of opportunity for the little guys to crawl through.

I'd love to see them come back, but I'm tempering my hopes to an expansion of the Necromunda line and Forgeworld releases given the relative ease and lack of investment that sculpting and casting a resin miniature line involves when compared to plastic.

In a rather interesting turn of events, I have sold the Halfling sniper greens to CP Models:

They will be cast in metal at some point in the future :)
