Guest
I have been working for awhile on a paint scheme for my SW's and I think I got an idea of what I wanted. I plan on using the Primaris models when they come multi-part, with the Pauldrons from the Burning of Prospero with the lip. Wolf Guard will use the 40k pauldron with the lip that has a wolf symbol on it. I will be using the Primaris helmet for everyone except wolf guard again that will use the wolf helmet or something else. I am trying to not use fur and only a few bone bits. I'm going to use the Forgeworld transfers for my pack and company markings. I wanted to make sure my colors would be okay and work well with each other. I wanted to use the 30k SW theme, but I thought the warhammer TV theme was a bit too bright so slightly adjusted and then changed a few things I thought was missing or would look better. Body Primer: Chaos Black Base: Mechanicus Standard Grey Shade: Agrax Earthshade 1st Edge: Administratum Grey 2nd Edge: Runefang Steel Peak Edges: Stormhost silver on things like studs and the very edge of the corner to show raw metal Brass, such as the pauldron lips, chest emblems etc Base: Balthasar Gold Shade: Nuln Oil Edge: Fulgurute Copper Peak Edge: Sycorax Bronze Steel: On swords and the bolter Base: Runefang Steel Shade: Nuln Oil Edge: Runefang Steel Peake Edge: Stormhost Silver Black: On bolters Base: Abaddon Black Edge: Eshin Grey Peak Edge: Runefang Steel Eye Lens Thin line of ceramite white Coat with Blood Letter around the edges Cloak trying to go for a deep royal red like Ulriks. Base: Mephiston Red Shade: Carroburg Crimson (?) Highlight/edge: Evil Sunz Scarlet Frost Weapon Base: Ceramite White (this is the brightest white right?) Glaze/shade: Guilliman Blue or Drakenhoff Nightshade ( I can't find a good review of these) Highlight with Wrack Write on the extreme edges Runes I forgot how I did my runes on my first model, still trying to reverse engineer it...this is what i think it was Base: ceramite white Shade: Calegor blue highlight the inside of the rune: Thousand Sons blue Bone Base: Zandri Dust Shade: Agrax Earthshade Highlight: Ushabiti Bone Gems Base: Stormholst Silver Gem color will be the GW technical gem colors. Hellrender
I also tried the WarhammerTV colour scheme, and also found it too bright So i did almost as you did. The left being exactly as Duncan did on Warhammer TV, the right the darker version. Simply not doing an overall Dawnstone, and making that the first highlight, with administratum being the 2nd sharp highlight. Guest
The one on the left almost looks like deathguard. To me the right one is pretty blue colored, but it could be camera or monitor issue, pretty sure this monitor isn't color corrected like my one at home. What colors did you use on the right one? Dantay VI
I use Grieuxs recipe for the bronzeassy bits Balthasar gold Reikland flesh shade layer Blathasar gold edge highlight Fulgurite copper Purple in recesses edge highlight Sycorax bronze If this is too bronze, then a wash of seraphim sepia, can restore a bit of yellow to it for a brassy look Check his first post, he lists his paint technique there. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/327134-a-skjalds-tale-of-the-days-of-darkness/?p=4540954 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/336426-sw-grey-theme-helpsuggestions/#findComment-4820020 Share on other sites
