The premier fighter of the Imperials is 5+ to hit anything air to air with its base weapons???? 4+ to hit ground targets?

 

Argh.

 

I'd love to have a flyer to shoot down other flyers, I think the visual is cool. But seriously, I'm better off with a Vendetta, since that can hover, and actually has better firepower. ( though it is 6+ to hit flyers).

The Thunderbolt has a long storied history of have incredibly horrendous rules.

I guess they wanted that legacy to continue.

It's a cool model but yes, the rules are just dreadful... As with all things the answer is a Vulture gunship with Punisher Cannons. 40 shots means it's just plain good against everything.

For ground attack, I can just say make use of officers of the fleet.

 

 

As for air to air, same applies to the lightning doesnt it?

I'm really thinking of modelling up a scratch build a mini Thunderbolt and using Stormhawk rules. Or building something big, and using storm raven rules, except my guardsmen could not ride in it.
