Jackalwolf
So now the caestus is actually cheaper than the multi melta stormwolf, the caestus costing 340 pts vs the stormwolf 353. So what do you think is best from a gaming standpoint? I'm personally going to only use the Caestus because I like the look that much more. EDIT: The Storm Eagle comes at 348 points so it's another contender. NightHowler
I still haven't seen the new Caestus stats. How does it stack up? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/336699-stormwolf-vs-caestus-assault-ram/#findComment-4820224 Share on other sites
Deadnaughty
The Caestus is a better transport if you want more then 8 terminators I guess. Its melta mostly the same as a stormwolf but it lacks the additional lascannons and hellfrost. Better survivability, which is nice since a fair few AA guns have bad AP. If you want a transport I would think the Caestus is better. As a gunship I would go for the Stormwolf (tho then the Stormfang is even better) Jackalwolf 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/336699-stormwolf-vs-caestus-assault-ram/#findComment-4820253 Share on other sites
Jackalwolf
I still haven't seen the new Caestus stats. How does it stack up? Same stat line but the Caestus has 2+ save, 1 more leadership, WS 5+ instead of 6+ and 4 Attacks but they degrade to 2 and 1 with damage. So overall quite better stat line. Weapons wise: - Caestus ram attack: melee, s8, ap -3, d6 - Twin magna melta: h 2d3, s10, ap -4, d6 - Firefury missiles: h 4, s6, ap -1, 1 Coverfire 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/336699-stormwolf-vs-caestus-assault-ram/#findComment-4820280 Share on other sites
Nadir
Can the Cestus transport a unit of wulfen? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/336699-stormwolf-vs-caestus-assault-ram/#findComment-4821148 Share on other sites
Jackalwolf
Yes since the keyword is infantry and the unit restrictions from the index imperium were clearly overruled on the faq.
