I have started restoring a land raider i have had since i got my first mega force box, when i was just getting into the hobby.

To say it has been a labour of love is an understatement, cutting off old doors and terribly assembled sponsons and so on.

And now i have reached the critical choice Crusader or Redeemer, i am leaning more towards the crusader as its cheap for a land raider and i am planning to use it to take all my marines that generally head up field.

In doing so i will lose out on 2 razorbacks with assault cannons but gain a land raider that can move and fire wirhout penalty.

Any thoughts or experience feel free to comment.

I have enough anti-tank with the Dev Squads, dreadnoughts and stormtalon, so an anti-infantry land raider is more beneficial.

Currently facing orks and tyranids more than anything too, so the godhammer becomes less useful extremely quickly with so few big targets.

Yeah the nids i have been facing have had very few MCs but a bucket of genestealers.

With the crusader i'd be putting two 5man tac squads with combi-plasma and plasmagun, a 5 man assault squad with 3 plasma pistol (no jump packs) and a chaplain with plasma pistol.

Aim would be to get my forward squads out there quickly and as group, disembark and clear objectives or high threat squads.

Chaplain is with them as he makes the units immune to morale (especially now with CT +1 to Ld) and to boost their ability in the unavoidable close combat that will happen.
